Just yesterday i heard this one on TV and wondering wheather this one covered in our forum..

"PEHLA PEHLA JUG MA RANI TU HATI POPATI"

Its kind of bhajan..

Though i am newbie on this forum and i won't be able to download the song, i want it to be remembered..

It is not full song..does anyone have ?

I think i am returning to my faith with this kind of music..i was kind of agnostic..may be still so..but loosning little..may be my hatred is towards religion and not towards almighty..

But yes, with this kind of music one slips into past..those school prayers..those lovely days..

I remember this used to be one of the daily prayers all along high school. Its so beautiful!!! Such fantastic meaning also.

(sounds so similar to naino mein badra chhaaye, doesnt it?)

and another one was:

mangal mandir kholo dayaamay mangal mandir kholo

and this just came to mind:

aaj amaari jeevan naiya dubu dubu madh-dariye kare
(reminds me of ek chatur naar)

Oh its been so long I have been reminded of these songs/prayers.

If i dig deep into school prayers..this one is just classic..look at the power of words...it does not stirr..it shakes off even corpse in coffin..

Suraj ki kirano se jalte hue ko mil jae jaise taruvar ki chhaya....

It is hindi one..

It is having two versions..

one from bablipatel(?) and another one from Anup jalota...

Thanks a ton Vivek...what is best part of your reply is that you will listen to them...yes..most of us..myself no exception..just keep on collecting songs(thanks to huge memory size of mp3 players..) and do no justice to such melodious songs..

Besides this, such music needs to be revived and recognized among todays cacophony..crap in name of music..

Another one I am reminded of is:

I was trying to find out if I could get some more information on the net, and guess what - sometime last year this time, Bawra Jay had uploaded a whole lot of Gujju songs and this was one of them.
It sounds fine, no hiss, I hope it's better than the version you have Vivek ji.
Any idea who's sung this? Music? Lyricist? Couldn't find any info on the www. Is it the same version mentioned in "Shraddha", if so does anyone know whether it's Praful Dave/ Asit Desai?

Wonderful Vivek!! thanks a lot. Are these from album named "Prarthana Pothi"? They sound aweful similar to the ones I have heard earlier... specially one of the voices sounds like of Phorum Mehta who was my neighbor back in India who also happened to be a singer in group named Bansri Vrund of VVN.

Thanks for uploading all the songs. The flute in Mangal mandir kholo is simply heavenly.

Anyone has "Shunyata ma pankhar" by Shruti Gayak Vrund?

IIRC, this was in the album that they had released in late 70s early 80s may be and had other songs such as Hun to gai ti mele, Piyu maaro leelo lajamani no chhod etc.

Very much possible. I am not sure though. I have got few of these songs from either MusicIndiaOnline or BhaktiSangeet.com and some other from cassettes my Mama had...

When I was in school, I used to go to learn Harmonium. The person teaching me used to play this song on flute. It was mesmerising to say the least...

We had another one back in the days.. it went like this:

mandir taaru vishwa rupaaLu, sundar sarjanhaaraa re
neel gagan maa mahimaa gaata chaando suraj taaraa re

(sounds so similar to naino mein badra chhaaye, doesnt it?)

and another one was:

mangal mandir kholo dayaamay mangal mandir kholo

and this just came to mind:

aaj amaari jeevan naiya dubu dubu madh-dariye kare
(reminds me of ek chatur naar)

Oh its been so long I have been reminded of these songs/prayers.
