Full Version: Where is Nitin Mukesh?
Can anyone tell where is Nitin Mukesh and what was his last song recorded? The last i saw him was on some tour video show.
He sang the ‘so gaya ye jahan’ well with Shabbir Kumar, this could be one of his last filmi songs from Tezaab (?).
Talking of Nitin, just a thought come to mind on a Nitin interview I heard.
Mukesh once caught Nitin smoking and at that time Nitin was also showing a keen interest in playabck singing.
Mukesh said’ If you want to become a playback singer then throw that away now’ which he did.
Must have sung some songs after Tezaab right? He is still doing some devotional albums time to time.
You may be right, I think I have heard him in some group songs with many other singers, can’t recall many solos or duets of his, can u?
I am not sure when Aaina was released but he had a song in that film "Tere Mere Hothon Pe"

I remember him doing.... Patali Kamar Hai Tirchi Nazar Hai... and shaking his 18 inch kamariya. It was so funny.

When I saw a viedo of him singing patli kamar his waist was more like 48"
but he did look funny. In fact I remember he was asking to borrow a duppta
from the ladies in the crowd to tie it around his waist. when he got one he
said I hope this fits my kamar. But for a man his size he dances very swiftly.
He also sang dum dum diga diga from Chalia. Danced all over the stage with
grace of Raj Kapoor and almost matched singing of Mukesh while dancing.
From what I heard he still keeps busy with concert singing old Mukesh gems
and some of his own.

Seriously Nitin Mukesh is not good enough. All he does like Amit Kumar is sit on the laurels of his father.
But one could argue who else is good enough besides Udit and Sonu?

In one of his interviews, he accepted the fact that he is not a great singer like his father and that he knows his limitations. I guess that is the reason why he keeps himself away from the industry.
But his concerts and other devotional albums are not all that bad.
However, it is not right to compare him with his legendary father. Singers like Rafi/Kishore/Mukesh and actors like AB are unique and they can never be reincarnated not even by their sons.
