Thanks for all the wonderful uploads. Baiyaan Na Dharo and Bhool Sakti Nahiin were the best. After listening to all the four uploads, I am begining to second guess myself about Guns'N'Roses but your voice in Baiyyan na Dharo did sound a lot like "Yesudas ji"'s voice.

Yep Chitz's / Divya's repertoire is varied too! How on earth do you guys whistle so well and in tune Chitz? The other day a friend's 4 year old tried to teach me to no avail!

Divya, I don't have a ear for languages, I am a Gujju and lived in Mumbai for years (when it was Bombay), but never picked up Marathi, so... I am out of that guessing game Even now when I visit, I talk to my friend's maid in Gujarati, she in Marathi and it's hilarious, rather like how teens converse with their grandparents here in the US.

well, then u can try guessing the meaning...as an hint, some words are very close to hindi....just try to find them out..meaning will be quite obvious to an extent..to tell u..i guessed the meaning of the song when i heard it for the very first time and at that time i wasnt conversed with this language...my frnd who taught me this language was quite surprisedf...

I dont speak Telugu, but can understand to some extent. Its probably "Ninnu Neynu Premisthunnaanu" .... which probably is the first line anyone learns in a new language ! .. As for the spelling, I just picked it from raaga.com from the movie of the same title

Too bad my guess was wrong. I didn't know you spoke Assamese prior to this. Anyhoo, the correct telugu would be " ninnu nEnu prEmistunnAnu" and yes the meaning is "I love you"


Nimmi ji: what were you trying to say here ? If you were trying to say " Why are you saying so Vivek?", then the telugu line would be
" Emiti rA Vivek, alA antunnAvu ? " or "enduku rA Vivek, alA antunnAvu ? ". The word "rA" is used with someone (male) you know very well and is either a close buddy or is much younger. It is sort of the equivalent of "bey" in hindi. To address someone you don't know that well, you could say (in singular) " Emiti Vivek, alA antunnAvu ? " [would mean, aisA kyoN keh rahE hO Vivek?], or (with respect) "Emiti Vivek gAru, alA antunnAru ?" [would mean, aisA kyoN keh rahE haiN Vivek ji?"



Nimmi ji: The correct telugu would be "ayyo devudA Emitidi?"
