So classical sangeet bhakto...Can you recognise the legends of yesteryears ?

Wow.......what a RARE...Classy Picture!!!! Yeh Kahaan Se Mila Aapko Mahesh Bhai??? And What was the Occassion when all these greats came togther??? smile.gif

I have shown the photo to our teacher & he has been able to recognise some of the unknown masters. I will send u their name shortly.

One request.... Can u send a better resolution copy bcz our teacher wants to enlarge the same.

Wonder...Debu.... this picture was taken in late forties and your teacher still knows their young faces...what is his/her age? bow.gif

Thanks a lot for sending the better resolution. My teacher Mr. Suresh Degwakar is in late fifties. Still he has identified some of them. He had shown the photo to some of his music friends & now all want copy of that photo. I have already given copy of your earlier photo. But some of his friends (including our teacher himself) want to enlarge it because they think (& of course it is) the rarest of rare photographs where all the legendary music personalities are in a common frame.

Maheshbhai, can you please tell us on which occasion the photo was taken & how did you get this gem.

Can we also be graced with a hi-res copy of this image? If not on the site, then by personal mail? I'd also love to show it to some fast-aging musicians I know in order to possibly identify some of the "nknowns" in this picture.

The photograph was taken in the year 1948. The occassion was first music conference
of Independent India. Source: National Archives.

Some more information on the unknown identities has been given by me in the
first post. It is in red. Kindly re-check the first post.
