I may sound like a broken record when I say it was so nice to hear this song after so many years.One thing is certain though, as I got back from work and turned my computer on, most of my tiredness was gone when I heard this song. Classic Movie Club catalog credits this song to Shamshad Begum and to me it did seem very much like her voice.Also to respond to your answer about Shah Music Centre of Meena Bazaar near Chandni Chowk, Delhi I think someone like me should be careful in believing extravagant claims in newspapers but 'Jab tak saas tab tak aas' dee kahawat mutabak one has to keep on trying and just as I think I have gotten most of the songs that I was ready to give up on through this website may be a few other sources or someone as resourceful as you could some day come up with the other lost songs. In the meantime I will continue searching stores in Chicago area and whenever and wherever I travel, I will keep my eyes and ears open for those old melodies.I would like to definitely see this wonderful treasure of songs at Shah Music Centre when I go to Delhi. Sardar Tarlochan Singh jee da taan shukriya Punjabi wich he ada ka reha haan.Any time I am in Punjab I would be very eager to meet you and Sardar Tarlochan Singh ji( Jey tussin attey sardar saheb time kadh sakke). Thanks very much for these songs dharamvirji, they are quite rare and hard to get hold of - even in Pakistan ! What's the source for these songs? It's a shame that there are so many jumps in them.

Aaja Ho Beliya is one of my favourite Zubeida Khanum songs - the version I have is clearer and without jumps, but it has jhankar over the track - which is really irritating.

Jamal! Complete albums of 'Shiakh Chilli' & 'Shehri Babu' is availble in very good sound quality in cassett form. I guess the rint of these movies are also availble in Karachi.

Really Inaam bhai? Whenever I go to the shops in Islamabad or Lahore they never have things like this. My biggest problem is that I don't know the right shops. Also my cousins do not like the same music as me so they are also not aware of the good shops and they also rush me whenever we go. Tassali se dekhne bhi nahin detey

I can think of three other songs that have a similar tune. First one is from 'Lachhi' 'Meri lagdi kisse na dekhi te tutdi noon jag jannda' sung by Shamshad Begum.Second one is from 'Chhai' 'Dil tut gaye milan ton pehlan te duniyan da kee giya eh' It is a duet but I am not sure about singer names.Third one is from Hindi/Urdu movie 'Dost'.Dil deke bahut pachhtaye saara jag veree ho gaya'sung by Madhubala Zaveri.The last one is a mixed Hindi/Punjabi song. I am not sure about Chhai's music director but Lachhi and Dost had music by Hans Raj Behl. I just saw your reply to my last query. Are there two Heer Sayal movies? one Indian and one Pakistani?The one I remember seeing in India around 1960 had Indian artist names. Also in your post today you mention Sudha(Malhotra?) and Shaminder as singers for Heer Sayal song 'ari we ari'. I think these two are Indian singers. Can you clear my confusion? Can't you just overlook your rules sometimes so that people like me can enjoy these hard to find songs from the 40;s and 50's.
