I hit paydirt today. I got so tired of telling people that I could not find
song x or y or z because my cassettes were in such disarray. So I
started the slow and painful task of putting them in some kind of organized
chaos. And I found it. Well I was excited. Hopefully some of you are
as well.
It is a cassette called "Suranjali", a tribute by Asha to Jaidev. The tape
begins with Asha talking about Jaidev and then it has the following songs:
(I have not heard the tape in quite a few years, so I am just typing in
what is on the cover)
Side A:
1. Sarfaroshi ki tamanna ab hamaare dil me hai
2. Mukar pik haule bol
3. More naina jaage saare raina
4. Tum so jaao mai jaagooN
5. Jo tum aa jaate ek baar
Side B:
1. Jo samar me ho gaye amar
2. Bana le nandlaala
3. Madhur madhur mere deepak laal
4. Nagariya
5. MehloN me aayi
It says Songs A-3, B-2, B-4 and B-5 are included courtesy of Amol Palekar.
I am wondering if they are from some film that he made.
Anyway, is anybody interested in these songs?

Well, yes SB yeh gaane to sab mere paas hain.
And U needed to hunt to find Suranjali????? 
Woh cassette to maine bachpan mein khareedi thi. And it was not lost -- it was saved. As soon as I got a computer (in adulthood) it was digitised. As soon as I realised that my digital copies were not too good and the album was no longer available I requested a friend for better copies. And got them. (Bhakt shayad aise hote hain? 
)And SB batche batche ka to pata nahi par India ka buzurg buzurg to zaroor jaanta hoga yeh gaane.
And finally to send U back into gloom--what are U doing on the forum? I had uled jo samar mein ho gaye amar in my rare songs thread!!! Quite recently.
Did someone talk of holding one's own?
