BTW, 'zala' (the z is soft, as in 'zzzz' not hard as in 'jhilmil') means 'happened' in this reference. 'Ushhakkaal zala' means 'it is morning now'. (loosely translated).[ Usha kaal]

Oh I can't thank you enough. This is one of my favorite songs and speaks in that lovely language of Konkani that I have grown up listening and just can't seem to master!

Listening to this and Asha's Konkani songs uploaded by a kind soul some time back, I must say Asha does a much better job of getting the Konkani intonations down pat than Lata. Lata has sung this song in a Marathi tone, hasn't she?

I am so sure the tune of this song has been used at other places. I am almost positive there is another Hindi song that borrows from or has been the source of this tune. But I can't place it.

And yeah - as I mentioned in some old post, I truly feel like a Bertie on this forum. And I say, you are sure another of them Jeeves ~ : ) Thanks again, eh.
