well Amitabh-ji had affairs with some ladies....if he loved all of them, we dont know. But he certainly couldn't marry all of them

khobi, amitabh loved jaya and his family accepted her they both married and had two kids rekha came on the scene later and they were both paired of on screen they became quite close in real life too....
what i have read is that he wanted to marry rekha and as at that time it was quite common for actors to have two wives it wouldnt have mattered... his mom Teji bachchan had no problem but his father had grown fond of his daughter in law and stood for her....
amitabh never did anything against his fathers wish so he accepted his wish and stayed with his wife.... he even promised his wife never to work with rekha... and later he was as dedicated as ever...
thats the only affair he had... rest are all just imagination

sorry shouldnt have said common... it was known to happen... changing religion and marriyng other woman then switching back to ones religion... thats what happened in Dharmendra- hema, vinod mehra- bindiya goswami, jaya prada- some director dont remember his name... cases... there are a few more like sarika- kamal hassan...

Preety...who were the 'other/original' wives of the respective names you took.....??? And you mean to say.....the two/more wives existed as wives at the same time for the man??? (Well....I surely know of Dharmendra's case.....thats still ON even today......but can you say more abt the others???)

And as far as I know.....at the time of marriage to Sarika.....Kamal Haasan had already divorced his first wife (Vani Ganapathi - a famous dancer) ....yes.....he had an affair with Saarika....after his marriage to Vani.....but guess he married Sarika only after divrocing Vani........(Well......now he's even divorced Saarika.....And has sworn publicly.....that he's failed in the institution of marriage....and will never marry again......that's a diff story)

He had also an affair with Parveen Babi. He was one among 5-6 other bollywoodstars who had an affair with the cute Babi.

If im not wroong, it was his father that wanted Amitabh to marry Jaya in the first place. After the success of Zanjeer, Jaya and AMitabh were going on a holiday to Europe, and Harivanshrai then expressed that he wanted them to marry before they went on this holiday...

dont remember the names Shyam ji... but yes all of them had two wives... infact Binidiya goswami left Vinod mehra and then went of to marry J P Dutta she was his second wife too... and here I should add that I don’t know whether she divorced Vinod mehra or not or if J P Dutta was divorced or not… so don’t ask me

in saarika and kamal hassan’s case, i know this from the horses mouth... there interview with Simi gareval... rendezvous with Simi... in which Saarika said that her both babies were out of the wedlock... kamal hassan was still married to Vani when they had their first baby boy...
the bottom line was that at that time it was very common in film industry so if Amitabh would have married Rekha it wouldnt have been something strange... but thank God he didnt... just watch and compare Rekha's Promos in bach ke rehna re baba and the simple sober dignified Jaya in kal ho naa ho

Though Kamal, Kemal, Kamaal are also Muslim names......and Hassan is also a Muslim name.......The south Indian actor - KAMAL HAASAN (notice the AA) is a Hindu Tamil Iyengar Brahmin. (Now I really dunno whether HAASAN is also a common name amongst muslims......if some1 could shed more light on that??? )
