It extracted fine, and surprisingly, the sound quality was quite good at just 451 KB!

It's amazing, but I'm prepared to swear that the 451 kb version is better than the 3.34 mb version! Now how's that possible??

Simple: quality of original sound source.

Anurag has provided a lot of valuable input on the subject of sound-quality. If the original sound quality is poor, converting it at 320 kb will not improve it! Even at 16kbps a good sound source would be better.
