(Dharmendra) Aadmi aur Insaan (1969)
Sahir & Ravi combine once again their talents in this film to come up with beautiful music and in the process coming up with several memorably melodious songs to their credit. Most of the songs from the album became very popular. For me the song of the album is "Zindagi Ittefaq Hai". The original soundtrack album combines the solo version of Asha and her duet with Mahendra as one song. But in the movie, these are two separate songs and that way I thought it was very effective. Mumtaz was electrifying in this song swinging to the beat and the rhythm giving it a sensational and provocative display of her lovely figure. I am uploading these two versions of the songs from the film in the second post. Here is a description of the songs in the first post and the songs themselves from an original soundtrack album ... (Manoj) Beimaan (1972)
This movie won a whole slew of Filmfare awards, some six or seven. These include Best Picture, Best Director (Shohanlal Kanwar), Best Actor (Manoj Kumar), Best Supporting Actor (Pran), Best Music (Shankar & Jaikishan), Best Lyrics (Verma Malik for "Jai Bolo Be-Imaan Ki"), and Best Male Playback Singer (Mukesh for "Jai Bolo Be-Imaan Ki"). The surprise here is that "Pakeezah" that probably should have easily walked away with many of these awards was nominated in several of these categories but couldn't win a single award. Just goes to show how bad these awards can get to be ... Here are the songs from this movie, from an original soundtrack album. It appears like that I may be missing a song shown in red italics in the table below. If indeed this is the case, please kindly share it if you can. Thanks. The songs ... THANKS A LOT SWARAPRIYA ! missing one's Chali Saj Ke Dil Ko Milane Mein Chali Hoon Wahan------//5:02//128kbpss For me, singing sad songs often has a way of healing a situation. It gets the hurt out in the open into the light, out of the darkness.
