(Manoj) Shaheed (1965)
Here is the first film in which Manoj played "Bharat". Subsequently he took the same name in several movies he was in, mostly patriotic oriented. Critics started calling him "Mr. Bharat". This movie, one of the early movies on the life of the martyr Bhagat Singh, ran into financial troubles midway through its production. Manoj, who played Bharat in the movie, stepped in to rescue the film by financing it and seeing it through a successful completion. With several beautiful songs, composed by Prem Dhawan who penned most of the lyrics, the movie was a modest success. Here are these songs from an original soundtrack album ... Attached image(s) |

Hi SP, You have mentioned Rajendra Bhatia as co-singer for couple of songs. HFGK mentions the name as Rajendra Mehta. Not sure which one is correct. Viraj |

(Rajendra) Gehra Daag (1963)
O.P. Ralhan, who acted, produced, and directed this movie and Rajendra Kumar, who is the hero of this movie, were in real life brothers-in-law. Ravi has composed some fine songs for this album. The standout song of the album is the duet by Asha and Rafi Saab, "Tumhe Paa Ke". I am uploading this and other fine songs from this album in the first post. In the second post, I am uploading some of the extended versions of these songs. Now for a description of the songs in this post and the songs themselves ... Attached image(s) |

(Sunil) Gazal (1964)
This is yet another beautiful album from Madan Mohan Saab. Here he is greatly assisted by some of the beautiful lyrics written by Sahir Saab. The album has that signature song one expects from the combination of Lata and Madan Saab, “Kise Pesh Karoon”. Then there is a beautiful duet by Suman Kalyanpur and Rafi Saab, “Mujhe Yeh Phool Na De”. Rafi Saab also has four beautiful solos. I am uploading all of the songs from this album in three back-to-back posts. The first two posts contain all of the songs from an original soundtrack album. The third post contains several extended version songs. In the first post I am also including a special version of “Naghma Woh Sher Ki” with a nice introduction by Lata praising Madan Saab. This song is taken from the album “Legends: Madan Mohan – The Instinctive Genius (CD 2)”. Now for the details of the songs in the first post and the songs themselves … Attached image(s) |

(Dharmendra) Neela Akash (1965)
Here is another beautiful album from the combination of Madan Mohanji & Raj Mehdi Ali Khan Saab. All songs from the album became very popular. This is one movie where Lata sings only one lovely song where as Asha has two beautiful solos and three melodious duets, all with Rafi Saab. Rafi Saab also has a couple of great solos. I am uploading these songs from an original soundtrack album in two back-to-back posts. Here is a description of the songs in the first post and the songs themselves ... Attached image(s) |
