(Amitabh) Hero Hiralal (1988)

This is another movie in which Amitabh appeared as a guest. This is also another movie in which Naseeruddin Shah played a different role than what one usually expects from him. We also have Babla, who made himself a name as Mukesh's voice singing his songs for Gulshan Kumar of T-Series, as the music director. Also a new face was introduced as the leading lady in this film, Sanjana Kapoor. I guess she failed to impress and disappeared without a trace.

In 1988 Amitabh starred in two movies as the leading man and appeared as a guest in four others. This movie with Amitabh as the leading man was touted as his comeback vehicle. Its story was written by his wife Jaya. On the surface it seemed like it had all the ingredients to make it a huge hit but in the end it proved to be only a moderate success.

Comedian actor Jagdeep reprised his role from the blockbuster "Sholay (1975)" in this film he not only acted in but produced it, wrote its story, directed the film, wrote lyrics for a song, and had lent his voice to four of the six songs.
