(Manoj) Apna Banake Dekho (1962)
This album has several nice songs. It has Rafi Saab's chart buster, "Raaz-E-Dil Unn Se Chupaaya Na Gaya" and others. Some of these songs were contributed by the members of this Forum. My many thanks to them. It appears like that I may be missing a song shown in red italics in the table below. If indeed this is the case please share this with rest of us if you can. Thanks. Here are these songs that I am re-uploading on request... Attached image(s) |

(Rajendra) Talaq (1958)
Kamini Kadam, born Manik Kadam, was introduced in a Marathi film, “Yere Maazya Magalya”, in 1955 under the name of Smita. After acting in a number of Marathi films she was introduced to Hindi film audience in the name of Kamini Kadam in Mahesh Kaul-directed “Talaq” in 1958. She acted in only six Hindi films, three of them with Rajendra Kumar (“Talaq” in 1958, “Santan” in 1959, and “Maa Baap” in 1960”). Her last Hindi film was “Sapne Suhane” released in 1961. Then Kadam completely disappeared from the film scene but made a comeback in a Kannada film in 1967, "Krantiveera Sangolli Rayana". She passed away the following year. In “Talaq”, Kamini in some scenes appear to mimic Madhubala, especially in her mannerisms. The movie was written and co-produced by Pt. Mukhram Sharma. With the topic of divorce as the central theme, the movie fails to establish any convincing reasons that force the couple to separate. The ensuing drama was not compelling and leaves much to be desired. The movie brought the music director C. Ramchandra and the lyricist Kavi Pradeep back together. They worked in nearly ten films and the association was fruitful in coming up with several good hits. The last time they were together before this film was in “Nastik” released in 1955. That film boasted some of the best songs of their collaboration. “Talaq” has some good songs but it pales in comparison with the caliber of songs from “Nastik”. Several songs from this film appear more than once. These include “Nayi Umar”, “O Baabu”, and “Dukhiyon Pe”. But the wordings are the same as well as the song. Therefore, I am not uploading these second versions. I am uploading the songs from this film and some of the music clips from the film, all ripped from a DVD, in two back-to-back posts. A word of caution. The quality of the sound from the DVD was uneven. This also reflects in the songs. Here are the songs from this film… This post has been edited by swarapriya: Aug 21 2011, 11:07 PM Attached image(s) |
