Would just like to let you know, I will only request albums from 50s and 60s and rarely would enter into 70s. Also, I was fortunate enough to get access to your downloads after May 2010. And as you asked, I'll request only a couple at a time. Thank you very much :-) The first 2 requests are - 1. Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere (1960) 2. Geet Gaaya Pattharon Ne (1964) Thanks once again Swarapriya. Pratul |

(Dharmendra) Dil Bhi Tera Hum Bhi Tere (1960)
In an All India Contest, Dharmendra was selected to become an actor. This was his debut making movie. No one had any idea that this rugged looking handsome man will go on to make nearly 500 movies in a very successful career that spanned 50 plus years. This film with the signature song "Mujh Ko Iss Raat" sung individually by both Lata and Mukesh became a modest hit. Apart from this song there are other good songs in this album as well. I am re-uploading these songs in two back-to-back posts on request. Most of the songs are from an original soundtrack album. There are a few that were contributed the members of this Forum and are identified in the tables. My many thanks to them for sharing these with us. Here are songs in the first post... (Jeetendra) Geet Gaaya Pattharon Ne (1964)
The great Shantaram produced and directed this movie with his daughter Rajshree as a dancer playing the leading lady. I am not sure whether this was her first film or not. Definitely this film was the first one where she played the lead. This was also the movie in which Jeetendra was introduced. Jeetendra's father had business relationship with Shantaram and Jeetendra used to frequent Shantaram's movie sets delivering goods where he was discovered. This movie was a clever adaptation of the life story of a sculptor named Jakkanna, from Karnataka. That very same year interestingly, a Telugu film on his life was made and released. Its name was "Amara Shilpi Jakkanna". The Telugu film also was a financial and critical success. All songs from "Geet" became super hits. The movie itself was a golden jubilee hit. Its music was composed by Ramlal who was not used much in Hindi films but woked in Marathi films. Such a great talent but so few Hindi films he composed music for. He was also the music director for Shantaram’s film “Sehra” that was released in 1963. Besides these two Shantaram films, he also provided music for “Naqab Posh” released in 1956. I wish he gave music to more Hindi films. Coincidentally, for both Shantaram films, Hasrat Jaipuri was the main lyricist. I am re-uploading the songs from this film from an original soundtrack album on request in two back-to-back posts. The first post contains all songs from the film. The second post contains several extended versions. Here are the songs in the first post... Attached image(s) |
