Directed by C R Simha, "Kakana Kote" was made in 1976.

Based on Masti Venkatesh Iyengar's play, the movie is an interesting depiction of the tribals fight against the unjust impostition of tax on the kuruba tribal communities living in Kakana Kote ( HD Kote range). All the songs of the movie have a timeless appeal and are superbly composed by C. Ashwath.
