(Kishore) Main Sundar Hoon (1971)
This film was based on the 1964 Tamil hit “Server Sundaram”. Comedian Mahmood played the central character Sundar in the Hindi film. The movie had uncredited brief appearances by several stars. They include Waheeda, Kishore, lyricist Anand Bakshi, co-music director Jaikishan, and others. The attached picture below shows a still from the film (song “Naach Meri Jaan”). In this Bakshi Saab is sitting to the right smoking a cigarette and Jaikishan is to the left (with his right hand against his chin). Jaikishan passed away in 1971, the same year this film was released. He was only 41 years old. Shankar & Jaikishan return to AVM Productions after 15 years. Earlier they composed hit music for AVM for the 1956 film “Chori Chori”. S&J won their first 1956 Filmfare Award as the Best Music Directors for that film. The songs from this film are not of the caliber as “Chori Chori” but they are not bad. Here are the songs from “Main Sunder Hoon”… This post has been edited by swarapriya: Aug 18 2013, 12:58 PM Attached image(s) |

(Kishore) Bombay to Goa (1972)
After his National Award winning debut in K.A. Abbas’s “Saat Hindustani” in 1969, Amitabh was still trying to get a foothold in the film industry when this film came. In 1971 he had a great performance in a supporting role in Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s “Anand” but the stardom still eluded him. He has to wait another year to make lasting impact with Prakash Mehra’s hard hitting movie “Zanjeer”. Watching now “Bombay to Goa” one really cannot see that this lanky and tall actor will be such a tremendous force in the coming years in the industry. Buoyed by the success of “Padosan” in 1967, Kishoreda appeared with Mahmood in many films. Most of these were as guests. In this film also he made a guest appearance. RD, who was introduced by Mahmood with his maiden production “Chhote Nawab” in 1961, was at the helm of music direction. He had his share of usual songs but one song gets very high marks way and above all others. For me the duet by Lata & Kishoreda, “Tum Meri Zindagi Mein”, is an astonishingly simple and endearingly sweet song. Here is this and other songs from this film… Attached image(s) |

(Dev) Chhupa Rustam (1973)
Vijay Anand had seven separate roles in making this movie. He produced and directed it under Navketan banner. He was a co-writer of the story and authored the screenplay. He also edited the film. He also had an important role in the film. Besides he wrote lyrics for three songs. Vijay, who made several hit films to his credit, however was a complete miss here. Even though it was not a total disaster, there is not really much to write about the film. Only thing that saved the day for it was its music. Burmanda’s music as usual delivered. To his credit, with able assistance from his wife Meeraji, Burmanda came up with several fine songs. “Dheere Se Jaana” by Kishoreda was a chartbuster. But both solos by Asha and Lata are also equally good. Here are these and other songs from this fine album… Attached image(s) |

(KIshore) Pyar Diwana (1972)
Lala Asar Sattar, professionally known as Lala Sattar composed music for some ten plus films. Apart from this film, his other notable ones include "Chalbaaz", "Khiladi", "Sangram", "Watan Se Door", and others. Asha Bhosle sang most of his female songs as she was his favorite playback singer. This film was part color and part black and white. Three or four of the songs were shot in color whereas the rest of the movie is in black and white. While working on these albums I am discovering more and more that Rafi Saab has lent his voice to Kishoreda in several films. In this film for the song “Apni Aadat Hai”, Rafi Saab was the playback singer for Kishoreda. Here is this and other songs from this film… Attached image(s) |

(Dev) Heera Panna (1973)
This film directed by Dev was a moderate success mainly due to its fine music by R.D. Burman. I am uploading songs from this album and some specials in two back-to-back posts. Here is the first set of songs... Attached image(s) |
