(Dilip) Sagina Mahato (1970) - A Bengali Film
The music for this film was composed by the great producer and director of many Bengali films, Tapan Sinha. It was later remade in Hindi as "Sagina" in 1974. The Bengali film won several awards from the Bengal Film Journalists' Association. These include the Best Actor for Dilip Kumar, the Best Supporting Actor for Anil Chatterjee, the Best Art Director for Sunit Mitra, the Best Music for Tapan Sinha, and the Best Playback Singer for Anup Ghoshal. I am not sure how many songs are in this film. I am uploading those I have below. If there are more, requesting members to share them. Thank you. Here are the songs I have... Attached image(s) |

(Dev) Dushman (1957)
The hit pair of "Patita (1953)" are back again for this film. Dev plays once again a negative character. But the movie itself was just about average. It did have some nice songs. I am uploading these from a DVD and some thanks to the courtesy of the Forum members... Attached image(s) |

(Kishore) Bewaqoof (1960)
I.S. Johar wrote, produced, acted, and directed this romp with Kishoreda in the lead. The movie had its moments but in the end it was too much of zaniness to take. Burmanda composed several good songs but in the final analysis the movie turned out to be just about an average one. I am uploading songs from this film, all thanks to the courtesy of the Forum members, in two back-to-back posts. Here is the first set of songs... Attached image(s) |

Concluding Songs from "Bewaqoof (1960)"... Here are the rest of the songs from this album... michela hain to cycle hain - 78 version can any one upload ? For me, singing sad songs often has a way of healing a situation. It gets the hurt out in the open into the light, out of the darkness.

(Dev) Paying Guest (1957)
This one is one of the beauties from the combination of Dev-Majrooh-SD. To this add lovely Nutan. When you mix all this what you have is a fun filled out and out entertainer. The movie entertain it does. Burmanda's songs help it to a great extent by giving it a big boost with almost every one of them being an unforgettable chart buster. I am uploading these songs in two back-to-back posts. The first post contains all songs from an original soundtrack album. The second post contains some other songs contributed by the Forum members. Here are the songs in the first post... Attached image(s) |

(Kishore) Girlfriend (1960)
This album by Hemantda has one of my most favorite duets of Kishoreda. The song is "Aaj Mujhe Kuchh Kehna Hai" with Sudha Malhotra. This is the only song, I believe, these two sang together. And what a song! It is a lovely composition enriched by Sahir Saab's endearingly beautiful lyrics. Sung with lot of passion by both Kishoreda and Malhotra. Especially Kishoreda's voice touches your nerves and evokes a sweet pain. A truly rewarding listening experience. I am uploading all songs, most of them from an original soundtrack album, here. The only exception is the song "Talni". This was contributed by the Forum member Vin Nidhi. Thank you Vin. I am also uploading a solo version of Sudha Malhotra's "Aaj Mujhe Kuchh Kehna Hai". This is not from the film but was sung in a London concert as a solo in 1972. The source for the audio is "You Tube". Here are the songs... Attached image(s) |
