Swarapriya,
Thank you for the songs. Does this collection have any introduction of Faiz or some commentary? "This isn't right, this isn't even wrong." Wolfgang Pauli (1900-1958) "There are no facts, only interpretations." Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900) |

Swarapriya, Thank you for the songs. Does this collection have any introduction of Faiz or some commentary? No. I have included here everything from the album. It appears to me that this may be one of several albums. I am not sure because the cover has no such indication. I am sorry that I am not much of help here. Cheers, Swarapriya |

Yet another beautiful thread!!
woman is the mirror in which man sees the reflection of his own self, his own dormant and hidden powers of genius when she comes and stands before him A woman is a meaning to life ! Someone who loves, who cares ! |

Thanks a lot for this Swarapriya. Really good... Kind Regards Faraaj Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent. - Victor Hugo There is only one better thing than music - live music. - Jacek Bukowski I hate music, especially when it's played. - Jimmy Durante No good opera plot can be sensible, for people do not sing when they are feeling sensible. - W. Thanks a lot for this Swarapriya. Really good... You're indeed very welcome. Cheers. Very good and rare material. Any idea about the date & venue? I guess in early 1960,s. There must be some info on internet....khawar I know Aaj Ki Raat is a private mehfil recording from the mid to late 50s. Faiz By Abida
When Abida sings Faiz, the result is like a critic said "a throbbing testimony to beauty". This is what The New York Times has to say about Abida: "... she melds virtuosity and devotion ... brings profundity to the music along with flamboyance ..." There are six ghazals in this album. Because of their lengths, I am uploading them in two back-to-back posts. Here is the first set of ghazals ... Attached image(s) |
