(Hema) Qaidi (1984)

This movie was based on the hit Telugu film "Khaidi" that was released a year earlier and established actor Chiranjeevi as a bonafied star. It starts like Sylvester Stallone's "First Blood (1982)" but soon becomes a routine revenge drama. I will upload songs from the Telugu film following the Hindi songs in this thread.

Here are the songs from the Hindi film, a typical Bappi Lahiri and Indeewar combination of yet another movie from the South...

Khaidi (1983) - A Telugu Film

This hit film established Chiranjeevi as a bonafied actor. It was the basis of the Hindi film "Qaidi (1984)". All songs from this film were huge hits. But the standout song is the duet "Raguluthondi". It was a huge hit when the film was released and rightfully so.

(Rekha) Umrao Jaan (1981)

This one is one magnificent achievement for several people. These include Rekha, who played the title role brilliantly. The director of the film Muzaffar Ali. The music director Khayyam Saab. The lyricist Shahryar. The singer Asha Bhosle. Interestingly, only some of these were recognized come Awards time. Rekha won the National Best Actress Award even though she lost to Smita Patil for her performance in "Chakra" for the Filmfare Award. Ali Saab won as the Best Director from the Filmfare. So did Khayyam Saab as the Best Music Director. Neither the lyricist Shahryar nor Asha who breathed life into several mesmerizing songs were not even nominated.

In this film, Shaukat Kaifi (Mrs. Kaifi Azmi and the mother of Shabana Azmi) played Madam Khanum Jaan. Interestingly, in the 2006 version of this film that was made with Aishwarya Rai, Shabana played the Madam's role.

(Hema) Ram Tera Desh (1984)

This movie deals with the subject of abuse of wives and daughters-in-law because of the greed for money and the dowry system that brings along with these types of problems. Even with Hema and Shabana sharing stellar roles, the movie fails to deliver the seriousness of the subject. Very disappointing.

I am uploading songs from this film ripped from a DVD. The audio quality is average but the songs seem to be incomplete in the DVD. I am including those songs here. Here are these...
