(Nutan) Meri Jung (1985)
This movie, directed by Subhash Ghai, based on a story by Salim and Javed had nothing new to offer, it was the usual revenge drama, but became a huge hit thanks to its fine music. The song "Bol Baby Bol" became a rage when the movie was released. The movie also features a song by two unexpected singers, Laxmikant (one of the music directors) & Subhash Ghai, "Jhoom Le Ghoom Le". (Mala) Mere Huzoor (1968)
Here is one of my favorite albums of Shankar & Jaikishan. It is amazing that this late in their innings this musical duo delivered hit after hit (this one with Shankar only). Rafi Saab has several beautiful solos in this album, three to be exact. My favorite is "Rukh Se". Mala Sinha, riding in the train when Jeetendra was singing about her, never looked this furiously beautiful. Then Mannada has the great song in "Jhanak Jhanak". I am uploading these songs in back-to-back two posts. Here is the first set of songs... Attached image(s)
