(Zeenat) Alibaba aur 40 Chor (1980)
There is this fascination of our film producers to collaborate with other countries to make movies in a grand scale. In most of these collaborations, in general, lead players were Indian and most supporting roles were played by the other country folks. Almost all of these movies ended up as big commercial flops. This movie is in that category. Interestingly just two years earlier, in 1978, Dharmendra and Zeenat collaborated with same famous names from Hollywood and England that resulted in "Shalimar". It was a disaster. Its music was the only redeeming feature, thanks to a fine score by R.D. Burman. This time, Zeenat and Dharam are teamed up with Hema for Alibaba. RD again is the music composer. Mid-eastern music was the basis for the songs of the film and the score turns out to be just about avearage. Here are the songs from an original soundtrack album of this film ... (Asha) Pyar Ka Mausam (1969)
Here is a great musical in the tradition of Nasir Hussain-RD-Majrooh. This trio was responsible for many memorable hits from various movies they worked together (an outstanding example of this is "Teesri Manzil (1966)"). This movie is no exception. Every song is an utter delight with "Tum Bin" in all its variations taking the cake. I will present these songs from an original sondtrack album in back-to-back two posts. Here are the details of the songs in the first post and the songs themselves ... Attached image(s) |

(Hema) Prem Nagar (1974)
This film was based on the Telugu hit "Prema Nagar (1971)". SD makes a rare appearance for a movie made in South. Yes, this was made together by Vijaya Pictures and Suresh Pictures, both from South. Songs have SD's inimitable style. Lovely. Melodious. I am uploading songs from an original soundtrack album in back-to-back two posts. I will also upload songs from the Telugu film right here immediately following uploads of the Hindi songs. Now for the details of the songs in the first post and the songs themselves ... Prema Nagar (1971) - A Telugu Film
This hit Telugu film was the basis for the Hindi "Prem Nagar (1974)". Most of the songs from this film were very popular. I have a couple of favorites in this album. These are the solo by Ghantasala, "Teta Teta Telugula" and the duet of Susheela and Ghantasala, "Kadavettu Kochhindi". I am uploading these songs in back-to-back two posts. Here are the details of the songs in the first post and the songs themselves ... Attached image(s) |

(Mala) Anpadh (1962)
Here is a timeless classic from ever so brilliant Madan Mohan Saab. The songs from this film by Lata cemented their relationship as the pair to look forward in the years to come. And they did not disappoint the music lovers. In the years to come they proved time and again that their collaboration produced some of the best songs sung by Lata that stood the test of time and some of the finest music composed by Mohan Saab that is still talked about. The songs from "Anpadh" were also immensely helped by some unforgettable lyrics written by Raja Mhedi Ali Khan that made these songs even more endearing. I am uploading all of the songs from the original soundtrack album in the first post. In the second post I am including several specials. Now for the details of the songs in the first post and the songs themselves ... This post has been edited by swarapriya: Jun 30 2010, 11:31 PM Attached image(s) |

SP, Regarding second song in this album list: I have never understood why most places it is titled as 'dulhan hai calcatte ki'. In the song, the chorus singers are really saying 'dulhan marwar ki'.
