Awam (1987)
There are only five songs in this album but they are all pretty nice. Asha sings all of them including two solos and three duets (with Mahendra). After they clicked royally for B.R. Chopra's "Nikaah" in 1980, BR repeated the combination of the music director Ravi and the lyricist Hasan Kamaal in several of his films including "Aaj Ki Awaaz" in 1984, "Tawaif" in 1985, "Dahleez" in 1986, and this film "Awam" in 1987. Before that BR worked mostly with Sahir Ludhianvi. After the death of Sahir Saab in 1980, he worked mostly with Hasan Kamaal in several of his movies. Here are the songs from this album ... Rajesh Khanna, Filmography Continued ... One of the lasting contribution of Rajesh Khann's movies is the legacy of beautiful songs. He was a close friend of R.D. Burman and Kishore Kumar. Kishore da gained popularity with the rise in popularity of Rajesh for whom he sang several songs. Burman composed music for nearly 30 movies of Rajesh Khanna. prince51214@hotmail.com

Nazrana (1987)
Finally we start seeing some new singers in LP's albums. For example, here we see Kavita singing a solo and Anuradha singing a duet with Mohd. Aziz. From this album, Kishoreda's song, "Isse Pehle", was very popular. My favorite from the album is the duet by Lata and Mohd. Aziz, "Jhan Jhananan". Here are the songs from this original sound track album ... This post has been edited by swarapriya: May 22 2010, 12:59 AM Attached image(s) |

Two songs u credit manna dey r sung by Mohd. Aziz get it right swarapriya ji I made changes per your suggestion. It was an error on my part. I must have transcribed it wrong. Sometimes it happens. My apologies to all of you if this error unintentionally caused pain. Well, Raz ji, hopefully I made it right this time. Thanks & cheers, S |

Two songs u credit manna dey r sung by Mohd. Aziz get it right swarapriya ji Wow! Wonderful attitude. Are you a salesman or a diplomat? Kind Regards Faraaj Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent. - Victor Hugo There is only one better thing than music - live music. - Jacek Bukowski I hate music, especially when it's played. - Jimmy Durante No good opera plot can be sensible, for people do not sing when they are feeling sensible. - W. H. Auden |
