Songs of "Romance (1983)" Continued ...

Here are the rest of the songs from this album ...

Manna Dey is wrongly credited for the song " Love Love Love", It's Mahendra Kapoor.

Thank you very much Ritesh for pointing out the error. I made the suggested change to the table.

Having been brought up on a diet of 'Teesri Manzil, 'Junglee','Jaanwar' &'Evening in Paris', listening to these songs is like Growing up on 'Amrut' and switching over to borewell water

Well, Madhu, remember "Junglee"" was made in 1960. Shammi was 25 years older during this period. No more "yahoos" from him. The music baton has changed from the likes of Shankar & Jaikishan to the new stars on the rise. Yet R.D. Burman gave music to ths movie. He also was 20+ years older. The efferevescence that was overflowing with bursting energy and the spark that ran through all the songs of "Teesri Manzil" are missing from some of these RD movies also. Times have changed. Things have changed. Listening habits have changed. It seems like everything is so different.

But I get the point in what you are trying to say.

Cheers.

Somehow, I managed without change. Of the thousands of songs in my collection, less than 1% belong to the post 1975 era(after my graduation). The last hindi movie I have seen in the theatres is 'Namak Halal'. I listen to HFM for at least 90 minutes a day (driving to, and back from office). Most of the songs are by singers who are no more, composed by MD's who are no more and written by lyricists who are no more. But the songs themselves live forever.

Exactly my way ! smile.gif
It has been a very long time since i went to see any new hindi film..i prefer watching them...those which are highly recommended at home..There have been some good ones...Dorr..Lagaan etc. But only in the story department.. music wise..the golden times are before 75...or 70 for that matter. just my personal opinion.
Earlier music is used to convey those feelings which cannot be conveyed by words, with meaning so subtle . Now, subtlety has no place at all.

After silence that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.
