Dhake Ki Malmal (1956)

Here is another early movies of O.P. Nayyar. There are eight songs in this movie. I am uploading five of them. These came from various sources including CD collections and from the Forum members. Because of the diversity of the sources, the quality also is very diverse from good to very good. The missing songs are shown in red italics in the table below.

By the way, the lyrics for Atma ji's song were written by Saroj Mohini Nayyar, wife of O.P. Nayyar. Very beautiful song indeed. More so the way Atma ji sings it. Now for details of the songs and the songs themselves ...

Samandar ko Baandhe Aisa Koi Ghaat Nahi, Kadmon ko thaame aisi koi baat nahin Patli si dhaara samundar mein milti hai, milkar ke kho jaati hai, ghaat ghaat hi rehte hain woh samundar ho jaati hai, karlo jo chaaho, banlo jo chaaho

C.I.D. 909 (1967)

Continuing on the hit parade of OP, he still maintained his high quality of hummable songs with this album. It is amazing that he sustained this type of creativity for so long. But this seems to be the trademark of so many successful artists during that time or may be anytime.

For the first time in a long time we don't see Rafi Saab singing any songs in this album for OP. But Mahendra Kapoor ably picked up the slack. One foot tapping song is the duet of Ashaji and Mahendra "Tera Nikhara Nikhara Chehra". Ashaji also has three beautiful solos.

Now for details of the songs and the songs themselves ...

Nasihat (1967)

O.P. for all his beautiful music seems like has composed music for many "B-grade" movies. But you cannot find any fault with his creative juices. It seems like he gave his best irrespective of what type of grade the movie was. Take for example this movie. "Nasihat" starred Dara Singh as hero with a young dancer from South, L. Vijayalakshmi in the lead. I am not even sure if the movie made any money. But the songs are still a delight to listen to.

These songs came from various sources including contributions from the Forum members. The quality of their sound is not uniform but all songs have in general are of fairly "good" quality.

Now for the description of the songs and the songs themselves ...
