How can I compare with this? I have requested earlier for the songs from that film. But no one responded... Continuing with the old classic(al)s, for a change, here is a soothing one from 'Panthulamma' -'43(means teacher-- the female one), tuned to raga Mohana (Deshkar). But she seems to be learning music in this no.

Balaji garu,
Do you have in your collection, "Sri Nagaja Tanayam Sahrudayam", an excellent Harikatha by Ghantasala in Film: Vaagdanam, the MD being Pendyala Nageswara Rao. Incidentally, the subject matter of this Harikatha is Seeta Kalyanam. Thanks in advance, Venkat I have changed many views in life since my childhood, but not my view of Rafi Saab as the God-sent Gandharva who visited this Earth briefly to spread ultimate ecstasy among genuine music-lovers!

thank you very much Murthy garu, Whom are you thanking and why! Venkat Sorry, Venkat, I don't have the harikatha referred by you. But I must thank both of you of having reminded me of my thread initiated months ago but got shelved due to lethargy and my interests more towards the Hindi films. However I'm planning to continue with the vintage classics from this part of the country, of classical & semi-classical genre which can appeal to the people who are not familiar with Telugu as well. I request them also to kindly listen to these and give the opinion. After all music has no language-bar and one need not understand the lyrics fully to enjoy music. To start with, on the occasion of Shiva Raatri : Song : Shiva Shankari... (Tuned to raga, Darbari Kanada) Film : Jagadeka Veeruni Katha ; Year : 1961 Singer : Ghantasala ; Music : Pendyala Nageswara Rao Lyrics : Pingali ; Format : mp3, 128 kbp --Balaji |
