I am as culpable as anybody else when it comes to duplication of U/L's. But for some of us who joined the forum recently, the [I]repeated upload is when we first downloaded[/I] the song. In all honesty, I don't usually go to Song Library to download songs.

When we repeat U/L's, the one person it affects is Chitralekha, since she does the unenviable job of adding the songs to the Library. IMHO, if we draw to her attention that it is a repeat, then the repeated upload should not make much of a difference, except for the memory it takes up on the server. In this regard, Pradeep may want to put in his thoughts.

On C's part, I am sure she does the best she can in terms of time available. But when there are "kambakhts" like me who deluge the forum, poor thing, she cannot possibly keep up.

A song may have been uploaded. It might still not be in the Library. And quite innocently, you or I may U/L it again. If so, it would be helpful if members like Flex would kindly draw to attention that it is a repeat, to bring it to the attention of C'lekha too.

Yet when a different or better version is uploaded, IMHO we should welcome it and not treat it as a repeat.

Thats very thoughtful of you to elaborate the re-loads scenerio. Once we upload the songs and if they are repeated or inferior sound quality its up to the administrators to decide which one they want to retain for the archieves purpose. The other team members should not worry about those incidents where songs are uploaded by mistake or by knowing that the song is being reloaded to offer better quality. But mistakes happen and everyone should take with a good spirit. We are learning slowly on "Forum Psychology" and would like stay away from any confrontation as the spirit of sharing music with the members is the paramount intention.

I fully endorse the views of Unniji and Shuklas. The spirit of music sharing will be lost if we start confrontation. As we are aware that some of the rare & beautiful songs - not available in the market were posted. Not only songs, some excellent articles posted /discussions have been made by members which may not be available at other sites.
