Track 2: Phir teri yaad aa gayi Singer: Asha Bhonsle Nice tune, but the song is kinda drab, possibly in keeping with the mood of the situation. |

Track 4: Saakhi aa tu koi Singer: Asha Bhonsle, Varsha Bhonsle This is possibly my favorite song in this film. Wonderfully sung by both of them. |

Track 6: Ab kahaaN jaayeNge hum (Sad version) Singer: Amit Kumar Amit Kumar does an excellent job in this song. If one can ignore his penchant to sing slightly off-key, you can see the emotion he puts into his rendition. |

QUOTE(sangeetbhakt @ May 25 2005, 10:02 AM) When I had searched some months back to tag the 4 songs I did have from cassette - I didn't turn up anything on the web. But today, I found this page (Univ of Virgina Indian Video Collection Library): http://www.lib.virginia.edu/clemons/ivid/ivid.html which lists the following information for the film: QUOTE Sansani SOURCE: Videocassette release of the 1983 motion picture. CREDITS: Director, Irshad ; music, Hemant Bhosle ; producer, Kavita Seth. CAST: Vinod Mehra, Bindiya Goswami, Prem Chopra, Shreeram Lagoo, Jayshree T., Jagdeep, Keshto Mukherjee. Thanks for the info JKD. I now remember that the cassette cover did have Vinod Mehra and Bindiya Goswami on it. Only thing was it had 2 films in the same cassette and I did not know which film was represented on the cover. |

At least your cass. had a picture. Mine was the "naqli" kind sold in the US - no artist or MD name. Next film in the series is an oldie with music by S D Burman.
Film: Bewaqoof (1960) *ring: Kishore Kumar, Mala Sinha, I S Johar, Sabita Chatterji, Pran Music: S D Burman Lyrics: Majrooh Sultanpuri This is one of those ridiculous comedies, produced by I S Johar. The story is one of babies being swapped up at birth, with the additional twist being that the babies are both from the same father, one with his wife and the other through a tawaif. Dad thinks they are switched when they actually are not. They grow up to be Kishore Kumar and Pran with their names being Kishore and Pran (very imaginative). Kishore and his friend played by I S Johar go through the usual gimmicks to win the girl which includes dressing up in all kinds of outfits. The competition between Kishore and Pran is primarily in the boxing ring. I have now seen Mala Sinha with Kishore in a few films and she always seems to have fun ("Jaalsaaz", "Bombay ka chor" and now this one). We always knew that she could ham it up with the best of them when it came it to drama. However, she does equally well with comedy. The film has 10 songs (including the title music). Now comes the sad part. The version of the film that I saw excluded 2 of the songs. One of them is the excellent "Tumhi piya chikaara garsiya", a duet by Asha and Kishore. The other is the only Kishore solo in the film "Sach sach o dear sach sach I love you much". I have a not-so-great copy of the duet that I will probably upload later on. I do not have the solo (have not heard it actually) and would love to hear it if anybody could upload it. |

Song 3: Tu jaam liye ja Singers: Kishore Kumar, Manna Dey Possibly a result of bad direction, this song has Kishore lip-syncing to Manna Dey's voice at points. The same thing happened in the Kishore/Bhagwan starrer "Bhaagam bhaag" as well where KK happily mouthed words sung by Rafi at times in the songs. |
