sangeetbhakt Ji,
Aapne apni padvi par aaj chaar chaand laga diye. Yeh sirf gaane nahi hain, hamaare itihaas aur sanskriti ka anmol khazaana hai. Utna Hee Upkaar Samajh Koyi Jitna Saath Nibha De
Janam Maran Ka Meyl Hai Sapna Yeh Sapna Bisra De |

QUOTE(sangeetbhakt @ May 11 2005, 10:35 PM) Film: Jaagriti (1954) Song 5: Kavi Pradeep - Aao bachhoN tumhe dikhaayeN jhaaNki hindustan ki Probably the most well know song in the film partly because it is a great song, and partly thanx to Doordarshan showing this a gazillion times. I remember the scene where the students travelling around India on a train with several shots of famous landmarks around the country. The lyricist Kavi Pradeep sang the song himself. Hello Sangeetbhakt ji, Thank you very much for starting this thread and for especially uploading the songs from the movie Jaagriti. You have rightly mentioned that many of us must have heard this song "Aao bachon.." a gazillion times, and every time one hears this song it has the same wonderful and stirring effect. Unfortunately the first and the last stanza of the song were chopped in the audio releases. The first stanza of the original song is incompletely mentioned below: Uttar me rakhwali karta Parbat raj viraat hain Dakshin me charnon ko dhota Sagar ka samraat hain Jamuna ji ke that ko dekho Ganga ka ye ghaat hain......... ...and the first stanza continues with the following words. .....Dekho ye tasveerein apni gaurav ke abhimaan ki..... Is mitti se tilak karo ye....... The last stanza of the song goes something like this: Ye dekho Bengal yaha ka har chappa hariyala hain Yehan ka bachha baccha apne desh pe marne wala hain.... and it continues as.... .........yahi hamare veer Subhash mahan ki Is mitti se tilak karo ye dharti hain balidaan ki If anyone has a song with the first and last stanza (if possible in a reasonably good quality), I humbly request you to please upload the complete version of the song. Thanks in advance. Cheers, Prasad |

Also thanks for Jagruti songs, real gems. Hard to find such melodious compositions in this era of re-mixes. Mohd. |

Or you could just rent the DVD and learn to extract it yourself. I simply started this thread. I have absolutely no issues if others would like to add to it. However, here are some basic rules that I would like to follow: a) Decent sound quality of the songs that are uploaded. I am not saying DVDQ or CDQ, but preferably no distorted songs. The album should either be rare/hard to find/film soundtrack version (maybe from a DVD which means quality and full-version songs). c) NO EASILY AVAILABLE MUSIC. Hindi film CDs are available in most stores these days or on-line. Such music is not the goal of this thread. I know that we do upload these songs for some of our friends who are in remote corners of the world without access to Indian music. But please not in this thread. d) Most songs of the film must be uploaded, not just one or two from the film. It is okay to upload most songs and ask somebody else to chip in for a couple that are not available. THat is it. Please feel free to add to this thread. |

Sorry about the slightly extended break.
The next film in the list is a rare one. Film: Sansani (1983) *ring: ?????? Music: Hemant Bhonsle Lyrics: ????? Although the film has a year of 1983, I am not sure if it was ever released. I am not able to find references of it on ultraindia. The film has some excellent songs and of particular note is a superb duet by mother and daughter (Asha and Varsha). At times, it is hard to distinguish which voice is whose. THis is probably the only film which has duets by them. There are 6 songs in the film including the title music. Hope you enjoy them. |
