What is the current short-list? May one add one more ...rather late in the day...
Mile sur hamara tumhara : Hamari Mehfil That might appease the self-conscious non-singer enthusiasts and the serious singers who find the "sur mein na sahi" discouraging... Meri awaaz suno is nice but some Rafi fans might object as it was the previous name of the Rafi group. "This isn't right, this isn't even wrong." QUOTE Any name will do. Do you mean that current title 'Sur mein Na Sahi' is inspiring enough for those who are slightly out of Sur and comfortable enough for those who surely sing in Sur? Could you please help us understand how? And Chintubhai, please please dont use my shoulder for your target hunting I am fairly new member, and my shoulder is not strong enough to understand your intensions, lol Manne se na hi poochho to achcha hai. Mera title aisa hoga- Besuri Bhadaas or Vocal Gymnastics ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Go for something unusual: "Geet sunoge huzoor.............." OMkar,
This is taking long. Simplest is to start a Poll Options (facility available in HF within a forum). Do this thing, 1) Start a "new topic" (available at the top right, click it) in "Sur Mein Na Sahi" forum. 2) Provide with a proper "Topic Title" (you will see this as you start a new topic) e.g. Poll for Name Change "Sur Mein Na Sahi". 3) Provide "Topic Description" (available just below "Topic Title"). 4) "Poll Options" (you will have this option just below the title and description). Use this for providing name choice to members and let members do voting. Include as many New Names as you want in "Poll Options" and let the members vote for one week). 4) At the end of the week, count and provide the results and conclude with a name change. Thats it. Hope this helps. Try out "Poll Options". Regards, Sanjay |

Great, then I have no problem with Hamare gayak! Idol means singers?? I dont think so... To me the meaning it show in MS Word is 'Icon', 'Statue', etc etc... I am sure that is the meaning for sure. ...1 HamareSingers Idol Well OMkarbhai, I didn't mean that 'Idol' per se means 'singers', but its meaning changes with the environment it is used in. In the context of cricket, it means cricketing idols and in the context of music, it is the singers who are the idols. That is why I am uncomfortable with the usage of both Singers and Idols in the same phrase. It is hard to choose between Hamare Idols and Hamare Gayak. If you hold a gun on my head, I'll choose the former simply because it is mine New options: 1. Hamari Awaaz Suno (mixture of HF and Meri awaax suno) 2. Geet Gata Chal 3. Gata Rahe Mera Dil When it comes to singing, first comes Rafi saab. Then comes God.

Friends:
I think we must focus on the activities rather than promoting individuals. So "Geet," "Gana," "Mehfil," "Gayaki," "Sureeli ChhedChhad," "Manch," "SaReGaMaPa," "Singing/Glee Club," etc. would be preferable to "Gayak," "Singers," "Idols," etc. Thanks. Binod धन्यबाद

Binod Binodbhai, I think u misunderstood us here. We not at all promoting any individual. We are just not comfortable with the current forum title. To us, 'Sur Mein Na Sahi' = Besure Hi Sahi; and many of us deny the fact. As I mentioned in my first post, I never found this title to post my songs under this name. And hence we want the name to be changed and make it comfortable to all of us. Hope this helps you clear ur mind! Only THIS MOMENT is in my hand and I just want to live that Perfectly!!! |

He means, when we use terms like Singers, gayak or Idol, the focus is on the singers. He wants it the focus on the activity. So prefers mehfil, gaane, etc.
I actually feel the opposite. If we focus on the singers, they will at least feel happy abt it and might get inspired to do some activity. When it comes to singing, first comes Rafi saab. Then comes God.

What's in a name? That which we call a rose, by any other name would smell as sweet. What say Romeo (HT) ...........................

QUOTE We not at all promoting any individual or any site. Are we? Any site? HT, I dont think I have ever promoted any other site here.. Rather I tell all my friends (personal and internet) to join HF as it is wonderful place to enjoy music! Or is it eSnips? But I guess eSnips is somehow like Orkut and youtube.. And if eSnips was not allowed, HF wouldn't have allowed to post eSnips songs by setting some BB codes?? So I really donno why u feel that!! Only THIS MOMENT is in my hand and I just want to live that Perfectly!!! |
