I don't know if you picked out this selection or some one else did, but whoever did has very good taste! If you want to post the list of outstanding, I can also upload, as I'm sure Aditya and others can because they are all familiar and available songs.

Faraaj Saab,

I collect these for myself for now. Are these my selections ? Deconstructing what I like is a bit difficult. I have made what I consider to be an honest effort at explaining. The answer's been pretty long drawn out (bordering on sentimental) so I have sent out a separate message to you.

Going forward these would be there for anyone to listen to should they want to. I hope to give these back to HF members when they request for it.

Hope the above along with the note that I am emailing across explains.

Look forward to your support

Warm regards

Prashant

Many thanks Adityaji. I read your blog and your hindi poem. Brilliant !

Reminded me of an English translation of a poem from French. It's been quoted in one of the books I once read (dont read much smile1.gif). Here's the link to the poem...It resonates with a sense of elusiveness that is present in your poem as well.

Take a bow !

Thanks for the uploads. The prelude to Nain Khoye Khoye is so delightfully haunting. That closes this out completely (the orginial list as you'd have seen). I had added the Ustad Pedro (1951) song. Would you have that ? I think I may have been putting the title of that song incorrectly. It is either Kichad mein ek pari se or Dil Ka Injan....I have O jaanewale, tadpanewale.

Also, I appreciate your pointing out the mistake. I have noted the movie name as well as MD.

Warm regards

Prashant

You're making me feel guilty! I recently had a daughter (21 days old now) and things have been hectic with my mother also visiting. I briefly checked my email a few days ago and downloaded the songs. The Numbardarji one was great and I can get you complete versions of the two Pakistani songs you mentioned as both are famous.....will try to do it soon. Thanks and sorry I didn't reply!

Kind Regards
Faraaj

Thanks Prashant

I became a father 7 years ago. This is just a case of my son acquiring a sibling and me having to go through sleepless nights once again (and with pleasure I might add!)....

This is the second part of the song "dekho duniyaawaalo uja.Daa hai sa.nsaar" from the film 'Hamari Kahani' (1949) - it apparently appears on the flip side of the 78 rpm record. The MD is Hemant Kedar. There is a post about this song on RMIM right now.

Warm regards,
Abhay
