(Dharmendra) Neela Akash (1965)

Here is another beautiful album from the combination of Madan Mohanji & Raj Mehdi Ali Khan Saab. All songs from the album became very popular. This is one movie where Lata sings only one lovely song where as Asha has two beautiful solos and three melodious duets, all with Rafi Saab. Rafi Saab also has a couple of great solos.

I am uploading these songs from an original soundtrack album in two back-to-back posts. Here is a description of the songs in the first post and the songs themselves ...

Two of the best songs did not appear in the film. Na Aasman Na Sitare was deleted after being filmed, while Mere Dil Se Aake Lipat Gayi was not even filmed. It was actually replaced in the film by another song - Tere Paas Aa Ke Mera Waqt.

According to Madan Mohan's website:

"This romantic duet by Rafi Sahib and Ashaji was originally recorded in 1965 for the film NEELA AAKASH (which also had the popular duet “Aapko pyar chhupane ki”). Reportedly, the makers felt they needed a lighter duet, lyrically and musically, and thus this song was rejected after being recorded and a new duet was recorded which also became a big hit... “Tere paas aake mera waqt guzar jaata hai”."

(Jeetendra) Caravan (1971)

This musical came from the Nasir Hussain film factory. That means loads of fun songs and sheer entertainment. Here he has the usual team collaborating with Majrooh Saab writing lyrics and RD providing some great music. The song from this film "Piya Tu Ab Toh Aaja" became a sort of milestone in dance songs. This was picturized on Helen with Asha and RD supplying unforgettable vocals.

I am uploading all of the songs of this film from an original soundtrack album in two back-to-back posts. In the first I am also including a special version of the song "Daiyya Yeh Main Kahaan Aa Phansi" with RD's introduction. This is taken from the album "Legends: Asha Bhosle - The Enchantress (CD 4)".

Now for details of the songs in the first post and the songs themselves ...

(Manoj) Do Badan (1966)

Here is a real beauty from the collaboration of Ravi and Shakeel Badayuni Saab. Rich lyrics. Beautiful compositions. Melodiously memorable singing. Every song was a huge hit and they still are very much endearing. This original soundtrack album has one of my favorite solos of Asha, "Jab Chali Thandi Hawa". Listening to this song over and over again you feel like you're being caressed by that cool breeze. Even with umpteen repeated listenings, this song sounds fresh as ever.

Now for the details of the songs and the songs themselves ...

Couple more from "Do badan". One is the title music and the other is a short verse by Rafi.
Song: Title music
Singers: Instrumental (the voice may be Ravi himself though that is just a guess on my part)
Duration: 3:25
Bitrate: 128 kbps

Song: Is jahaaN me (verse)
Singer: Mohammad Rafi
Duration: 0:40
Bitrate: 128 kbps

(Raaj) Dooj Ka Chaand (1964)

Whenever Roshan Saab and Sahir Saab got together they produced winners. Their collaboration in nine plus movies produced several gems. Songs from this album are pretty good too. I am uploading these songs in two back-to-back posts. The first post conatins all the songs from the film. The second post has several extended version songs.

Now for the details of the songs in the first post and the songs themselves. There is a song in this post where the Hemmady sisters, Suman and Shyama, sing together a song, "Jhaankti Hai Meri Aankhon Se" ...
