Countless times...but I have no stamina! His songs r just tooo hard, u need 4 sets of lungs
IMHO, Rafi Saab and Talat mahmood songs r the hardest! WHY? U have 2 have excellent control over breathing and voice! Talat Mahmood songs sound easy but try to sing along with him...u will understand what i am talking abt. As with Rafi Saab's songs, my voice cracks when i try to sing at higher pitch:-( That's Y he is 1 and ONLY! His effortless singing is his trade mark! No clone can match that.....

I'm sure Lata falls in the catg. too.

First of all let me appreciate u for commenting Rafi sahab's voice. You r absolutely right when u say that there is none like him.But people are there who have groomed themselves to such an extent as to copy Rafi sahab.For example Mehindar kapoor, Anwar Rafi, and recently Sonu nigham.These people try to sing on the same notes as Rafi sahab was used to sing.Whenever whenever u try to sing Rafi sahab's songs try to evoke a blend of softness and high pitch in ur voice.

Thank U 4 the kind words! Yes, other singers tried to sing Rafi Saab's songs on the same notes - but the "Quality" is missing.... There is a BIG gap btw their singing vs rafi saab voice/style! This is wat Lata~G had to say abt Rafi Saab vs other singers:

“Rafisaab’s voice was of course his greatest blessing. High-pitched or soft, there was a certain namrataa in it. The inimitable harkatein and taan were all a natural part of his talent.”

yes u r right..Quality is missing in their singing even though they tried to sing like Rafi Sahab.Rafi sahab's voice cannot be immitated.But they compostion he sung definitely be resung as Sonu Nigham does. Though he does not have that vocal quality yet he can sing Rafi sahab's songs with some similarity and new comers also try to do the same.As every singer has an inspirational personality from whom he learns the basic maxims of singing, a person who likes Rafi sahab can very well immitate him.Though he cannot sing in the same way..But he can turn his pitch like the vocal of his favourite singer
