Uploaded on the ocassion of the Holy Month of Moharram which is the first Islamic Month of Year and also the month inwhich the Hazrat Amam Hussain (blessing upon him as he was the grandson of the Last Prophet Hazrat Muhammad peace be upon him) and his companions were martyred in a battle at the place Karbala currently located 100kms southwest of Baghdad in Iraq. Meer Anees centuries later penned a lot of war poetry especially Marsiyya which in Arabic is called marthiyyah or marthat meaning a poem written to commemorate the death of a person. This was composed for Madam Noor jehan by the veteran Music Director Hassan Latif (who composed so many songs in early movies which may have been heard by most of you..like Jis nay meray dil ko dard diya us shakal ko maine bhulaya nahi by Mehdi Hassan and also ja apni hasraton par aansu baha kay so ja by Madam Noor Jehan in same movie Susral, Salim Raza's Shah e Madina Yasrab kay Wali in Film Noor e Islam, Kaise Kaise log hamaray g ko jalanay aa jatay hain by Mehdi Hassan in Film Tere Shehr mein and Un say nain mila kay dekho by Noor Jehan in same movie, and other movies like Barsat mein, Karishma etc with a Rare Punjabi Bhajan in film Balwant Kaur that i posted on YouTube too.. Hassan Latif earlier composed Dard ho dil mein to dawa kijay for Madam Noor Jehan too on PTv which is an evergreen Ghazal of Mirza Ghalib till today..
Hope this info serves well for those unknown to this type of poetry and the composition without much instruments..and as they says "Noor jehan khud saaz hain unko saazon ki zaroorat hi kya"
