In this topic I'll upload some rare songs of Shamshad Begam

The first one is - Hiye re dhimi dhimi chali hawa
from 1942 film Nishani

Vishram Ji,

Thanks for the songs. I had not heard nearly half of
them. You are now in 1945-46 period and before you
go further, please explore your collection for the
following songs of Shamshad from Humayun-1946:

1. ai chaand tuu bataa de, mere dil ko kayaa huaa hai
2. rasm e ulfat kisii surat se nibhaae na bane
3. merii duaaon kaa yaa rab

All the female songs of Humayon were recorded both
in the voice of Shamshad as well Rajkumari. In the
movie the above three songs by RAJKUMARI were
used. So I am requesting for these songs in Shamshad's
voice. If you have them please upload.

Incidently, the lot having shamshad's songs were issued
by HMV and those by Rajkumari by Columbia. In the movie
Shamshad's voice was used for Veena and Rajkumari's
voice for Nargis.

Thanks for the songs from Bairam Khan, I had not heard them before and thoroughly enjoyed them. If you have the Humayun songs do upload 'naina bhar aaye neer more hatile rajaa'- I'm very fond of this song and the copy which I possess is not very good.
Urzung ji, was this also recorded in Raj Kumari's voice. It will be really intriguing to hear this in Raj Kumari's voice. BTW, just a query- how come all the songs recorded in two different voices and then given to two different recording companies. Sounds a bit bizzare. Were there no copyright issues?

To get one's own song recorded in the voices of two different singers through different companies..... are two different pieces of work. A single producer can have two different rights for such songs...there is no offence. Because they are the properties of a single person.

In today's time you can sing some one else's' song, cut the discs, sell them and yet get away..... in the name of remixes. ..........no provision in Section 51 of the Indian Copyright Act, 1957 for such violations.

Now.... you might remember why the old warhorses went to the Information and Broadcasting minister for making changes in the said Act.

you are welcome Urzungji, Ashishji, Pulkitji and Shuklas
but Im sorry, I dont have, at least for now, anything you people want.
I got these songs from one of my friend who is having tons of such rare
stuff on audio cassettes. After long waiting I got 4 cassettes from him
on 'as is' basis. That means whatever he has on the cassette he will just
transfer on to mine. Out of these 4, One each has Shamshad, Khorsheed
& Ameerbai songs and one has all three singers. That way I have appx.
30/35 such songs of each singer.

I'll definitely upload all Shamshad songs I have. And my second waiting time
will be over within say a month's period. This time I expect at least 6 (or 10)
cassettes. If I get them we can have some more rare stuff to enjoy.
Till then, I'll continue with what I have.

I have checked the file on my comp. It plays the Mehandi song
'O door janewale'. correctly. I don't know what happened. I can't confirm by d/l the
same file because am not 'Trusted member' and as such I can't d/l anything.
But you can confirm with some other member and if the same problem remains
I'll reupload the file.

One more thing I wanted to know from you.
There is a program conducted by Ameen Sayaniji called 'Sangeet ke Sitaronki
Mehfil' on red FM India. Day before he had a program on 'Master Ghulam Haider'.
there he played 4 songs of Shamshad Begum.
Khajanchi (Sawan ke najare), Humayun (Ho chand chamka), Shama (Ek tera sahara) and the 4th song was 'Apne balamse milkar ayi hun' which he says is
from Chal Chal Re Naujawan, but I can't find any info about it on HFGK.
Please let me know if you have some information about it.
