Simplefable Jee
All lovely songs - I can't believe I hadn't heard them before! So, Kamal Dasgupta and Hemant Kumar really collaborated on some lovely songs. Thanks for posting these online. Very generous of you. I'd agree with frangipani about the bengali touch - especially in Aaj Sharabi Ankhon Se. Kind Regards Faraaj Kind Regards Faraaj Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent. - Victor Hugo There is only one better thing than music - live music. - Jacek Bukowski I hate music, especially when it's played. - Jimmy Durante No good opera plot can be sensible, for people do not sing when they are feeling sensible. - W. H. Auden |

I am adding two private songs by Hemant Kumar. The lyrics are by Gulzar. The two songs seem to form a continuum but I have the first one labelled as a 1966 song while the second one is labelled as a 1973 song. I am not sure which is the correct date. 1966 seems likely because this is the date given on the Gulzar CD compilation from which I acquired this song; HK's voice, however - especially in the second song - sounds more like the 1970s. (The second song, sent to me by a friend, came encoded at 96 kbps; I have left it as is as any editing will only damage the quality.) Lovely songs both! AFAIK, the music for both is by HK himself.
[The first song appears in the film "Shaque" as a background song, but I remember Pavan Jha telling me - I think it was on an RMIM thread - that the film version was sung not by Hemant Kumar but by one J K Bannerjee.] abhii na paradaa giraa_o Thaharo Hemant Kumar - Gulzar - Hemant Kumar 3:02 min; mp3 @ 128 kbps giraa do paradaa ki dastaa.N Khaalii ho gayii hai Hemant Kumar - Gulzar - Hemant Kumar 3:47 min; mp3 @ 96 kbps Warm regards, Abhay |

Faraaj...Ravi shankar Sharma is none other than the famous music director RAVI. He worked as assistant to Hemant Kumar.
Though Hemant Kumar's voice sounds a little jaded..there are some beautiful songs of his even in late sixties..and early seventies. Abhay..thanks for the songs. After silence that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.

SF - a small request. Since I cannot download these songs you posted on 4shared right now - I will download them by week end. Please do not remove them till then. Sachin, the files i post are to be enjoyed by music lovers like you. I will never remove any file. Even if they get erased by mistake, please feel free to ask, would be more than glad to send them to you. I didnt like to cut down the bit rate of those songs from 320 kbps ...so i posted them there. After silence that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.

SF, thanks for the lovely uploads. I think I got some of the other ones from this forum, but I wanted to thank you again for 'aye shaam ki hawaan' and 'aaj sharabi aankhon se'. I listened to these for the first time yesterday and I really appreciate the uploads.
And I had some more requests in case you have these... I realised that I haven't heard these three songs either. Might I request for an upload if you have them? Main Prem Mein Loota Aaya Hoon musibaton ko bhula raha hoon jag beeti duniya kehti hai Thanks, Frangipani |
