My first attempt at trying to share some pics of places visited. Hope I get this right smile1.gif tried uploading some a few minutes ago and it was a disaster - i realised I needed to resize the pics for them to fit the screen

SO here is the next attempt.

Beijing - Some pics of the forbidden City and then the LlamaTemple. I love the Chinese architecture. I always had a fascination for the bamboo...and anything that was Oriental.

Joy, sorrow, tears, lamentation, laughter — to all these music gives voice, but in such a way that we are transported from the world of unrest to a world of peace, and see reality in a new way, as if we were sitting by a mountain lake and contemplating hills and woods and clouds in the tranquil and fathomless water.

- Albert Schweitzer

I have changed many views in life since my childhood, but not my view of Rafi Saab as the God-sent Gandharva who visited this Earth briefly to spread ultimate ecstasy among genuine music-lovers!

Bhavita..am amazed ! bow.gif
I have been to china for a short visit..a week or so. visited Beizing and Great wall..Being a horrible planner i can always say that i have been there but neve done that !! laugh.gif
Lovely pictures...and my name ?? i tried to get it from a friend, but it went into pages... wink.gif
OmG...i went down by three kgs in my short visit, survived on fruits and french fries..and ofcourse desserts ! No, am too traditional and cant survive anywhere else.. sad.gif
the most funnything i remember is that one...they dont serve water with any food..you need to buy and drink bottles. and secondly ?? this true quote from a notification in a HOtel....

" in case of fire , lower yourself to the level of the floor and stay there".

The pics of the ceiling are amazing...now, i should slap dust off my europe trip photos...lakshmi asked me for so many times, but i just couldnt do it. Now..am inspired.. laugh.gif

Looking forward to seeing Europe through the lens of your camera, SF.... smile1.gif

Well...we always got hot chinese tea in lieu of water ;-)

Try the tofu next time. Even i thought i would not survive there, but i soon developed a liking... have visited China thrice and there is one more trip planned...

By the way, the paintings are not paintings, but huge wall frames done with silk thread embroidery (apparently hand embroidery, NOT computerised embroidery)

OmG...ditto..ditto. laugh.gif
Infact, i gave a dinner in China, Urumqi and ..while all devoured slices of meat by putting them in a bowl of hot water placed before them, i just had some palak kind of greens dipped into my bowl and poured some sauce over it...while munching away their hard bread.. laugh.gif
I can count the times i had pizza, burger..etc.. All because of compulsions.. smile.gif
ONce my nephew took me to an italian restaurant..and ordered pasta but after seeing my face when i had a gulp of that food, took it away. smile.gif
When i went to mexican restaurant, i couldnt eat that famed dish..burrito..for me it was nothing but rotis stuffed with rice and other things.. sad.gif
