During A.D.500 - 900, polynesians from the Marquesas and Tahiti arrived on the islands. The islands of Hawaii are Kauai, Niihau, O'ahu, Molokai, Lanai, Maui, Kahoolawe and Hawai'i(the big island). In 1778, Captain James Cook landed 2 ships on Kaua'i. In 1842, the US recognized Hawai'i as an independent nation. in 1941, the US enters World War 11 following the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and other O'ahu states. Hawii became the 50th state in 1959.

I got a chance to visit the 4 main islands of Hawaii. Kauai is the smallest of the 4 and the prettiest. Kaua'i someimes referred to as cow-eye is "The Garden Isle" due to its lush vegetation. It gets lots of rain especially in the winter months. The average day temp is 80 during the day.

Here are some pictures of this small island.

Wow, gorgeous pics. 80 degrees... cool.gif And in your first pic it seems that the wind is blowing... can almost feel it...

Lakshmi, if you can make the pics a little smaller then it will be nicer to see the entire pic at one go. You can go to (Image--> resize/resample) or something similar. If you cannot, then it is fine ofc... keep em coming... nice to experience the balmy Hawaii smile1.gif
