I read somewhere that once someone was making a plan to cast Saigal saab and Noor Jehan together in a film, but then there was partition and NJ went to Pakistan and few months later Saigal saab died and thus that film was completed by two different stars all together. I guess it was Nargis and Dilip Kumar. But, it would have been lovely, two singing titans saigal saab and Noor Jehan together.

I dont know much about her---bus yahi pata hai ke she was close friend of Madam, I think she lives at Karachi--- mera khayaal hai inse milne ki koshish ki ja sakti hai

Is she the same person (Shano?) whose interview with Madame had been published in a magazine and then translated and posted at RMIM and quite recently uploaded here by Priya.

Priya, Shahin's number still might not be listed in the directory. Her phone might be in the name of her father/husband etc. LOL, though feminism is in vogue it has still not spread that much. But Inaam do try, maybe Shano jii is a feminist. There are good chances as she is Madame's good friend and like minded people usually gel together.

Inaam: Please let me add my thanks to you and Priya for these pictures. Although I never had the fortune to meet Madam in person, I feel rewarded with this oppotunity to view her photographs and for living at this time when Malika-E-Tarranum's memory is very much alive. Sampath
PS: Would it be possible for you to meet Zil-E-Huma for an interview? From the pictures, it would seem Madam was closest to her.

No, she is not Zeba Bukhtiar. She is Zeba, the most popular actress of the 60s.Going by the number of hit films, she has perhaps the most hit films to her credit including many golden, silver and diamond jubilee films. She started her career in 1962 (when Noor Jehan was ending hers), NJ and Zeba were good colleagues and friends. Once Noor Jehan said "Mainay Zeba sai zeyada haseen aurat kabhi nahin dekhi" (I have never seen anyone more beautiful than Zeba).
