As I promised elsewhere, here is a post which collects different rendition of "Ranjish hee sahi" by different singers.
So far I have seen them sung by the quintessentially romantic Mehdi Hasan saaheb, Runa Laila who sang it a shade close to perfection too like MH, and Iqbal Bano. I have uploaded Runa's version before. Let me collect all the links here: Runa Laila: http://www.hamaraforums.com/index.php?act=...e=post&id=21164 Mehdi Hasan: uploaded here I am uploading Iqbal Bano's version here. Feel free to post or discuss any other renditions here.. ranjish hii sahii dil hii dukhaane ke liye aa aa phir se mujhe chho.D ke jaane ke liye aa pahale se maraasim na sahii phir bhii kabhii to rasm-o-rahe duniyaa hii niibhaane ke liye aa anurag This post has been edited by anurag: Sep 30 2004, 09:23 AM Socrates said, "The unexamined life is not worth living". I fear if I examined it, then according to Heisenberg uncertainty principle it would somehow change. After all, we are just particles.

It seems there are renditions of this ghazal by Farida Khanum, Talat Aziz, and Anuradha Podwal as well. This must be the most sung ghazal in the history of ghazal singing (or am I exaggerating?)...
The ghazal has been sung by most based on raga yaman - an evening raga and that may be a good reason why it feels good to hear it after a day's work lounging on the couch sipping a cup of coffee. anurag Socrates said, "The unexamined life is not worth living". Sham Se Aankh Mein Nami Si Hai.. lovely picturization.. kind of sad. This guy who is sitting in the office.. his eyes happens to fall on his wife's photo. Then the scene is taken when they first met etc.. but later.. she died in an accident. kuch bhi nahin hai tera mol, boli na badi bol, khilona tu maati ka...

I see, Chitra. No problem. I should have noticed that you had Pradeep's post in quote.
We still need renditions by Talat Aziz, Anuradha Podwal, Farida khanum and Hariharan to make this thread complete... where are all ghazal listeners - extenok, nadeem, rom, shuklas and others? I am a young and unyielding animal - don't test my patience, you guys. Socrates said, "The unexamined life is not worth living".
