A product is made special by value addition, as per marketing theory.

Kishore Kumar is a celebrated brand in HFM. Most loved by kids and youth.
There is definitely some special attraction in the voice. Untoubtedly, he is one of
the gifted Natural singers of the last millenium like Saigal saheb,Geetaji, Mukeshji.

Akhtari Bai Faizabadi aka "Begum Akhtar"is also a natural singer. Natural singers
attract you naturally. It hardly matters whether they are trained in classical singing
or not.

Two persons reached special milestones are Saigal Saheb and Begum Akhtar.
Classical training added value to their outputs beyond reach by contemporaries.

Our scope of the topic is limited to Film Music. So we are going to discuss aspects of
Kishore's singing and the moments which made the voice "Voice of youth", "Dil ki dhadkan"

Statutory warning: no comparsions like chhota bada inferior superior will be made here
Every artist is great and we should respect their qualities and traits.

Chintu, I won't agree with your above statement. To me he was and is not a brand. To me Kishore Kumar is a "Phenomenon", something that doesn't happen every now and then and that in itself describes it as rare. Prodigy in true sense, from Music director to Actor, who had his own impeccable style of acting and still inspires a lot of actors. A soulful dreamer who dreamt of making good movies, some thing that touched souls at core.

He touched every aspect of "entertainment"

Good thought Marcilo. He as an artist, is a Mount Everest
of talents. Unique artist. We are discussing here aspects of his singing.

Looking forward for your analysis and inputs ninja.gif

BTW he appeared in one of those hair cream ads. So he is directly or
indirectly related with Ads world. Chahe Bajaj ho ya koi aur product, unki awaz
apko sunai de jayegi. rolleyes.gif

That doesn't make him brand, that will make him "the phenomenon" brand ambassador

Dont agree with you Marcilo. Let others pitchin their thoughts.
A brand doesn't mean commodity always. We are discussing everything
except aspects of Kishore's voice.

Which theory says that brand should sell itself?? Brand is used to enhance corporate identity
also. It may help other products in market.

BC!!
KishoreDa is awaaz ke kya kehne..Listen to a sond with mediocre lyrics and music with KishoreDa's voice..one will listen to the song only becoz of the voice. Never seen so much modulation in voice by any other singer..He was about 55 when he sang Kaate Nahi Katate (Mr. India)...And....No singer in HFM history sounds so masculine as well as melodious in tandem biggrin.gif
