May I request a line to line translation of the song and if possible, a good audio copy of the song too! And also request more such beautiful songs (with translation )! Erum, Thanks for the appreciation. I don't have an audio file for it. I will have to extract audio from this video. I have added the lyrics and a rough translation. The song is about morning sun rise and nature. It is a very short and simple poem. But I liked the composition and picturization. My Kannada is very rusty. Perhaps, Lakshmi, Yadavagiri or other Kannadiga members can help in the translation. Exon This post has been edited by Exon: Nov 20 2008, 10:26 PM |

Rama krishna, Vani sri...
And the songs are by Vani Jayaram...music by Rajan Nagendra, the kannada duo. Vani was fantabulous...Would send you songs...soon. After silence that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.

Film: Thabbaliyu Neenaade Magane (1976?)
Music: Bhaskar Chandavarkar Singers: P. B. Shrinivas, B. K. Sumitra, Vidhyarani, chorus Song audio: dharani mandala madhyadolage (6:58 \ 128) This is a well known folk song. Most of us who studied kannada in elementary school know this poem. It was used as the title song for the movie made by Girish Karnad and B V Karanth. The movie, Thabbaliyu Neenaade Magane (son, you have become an orphan) is based on a story by well known Kannada writer S. L. Bairappa. The movie was remade (or dubbed) in Hindi as Godhuli. Erum Hashmi has uploaded the Hindi version of this song. The hindi song lyrics is a fairly close adaptation of the Kannada poem. http://www.hamaraforums.com/index.php?s=&a...st&p=550105 Exon This post has been edited by Exon: Nov 21 2008, 05:02 AM |
