Bappa Bappa-da: If I were you, I wouldn't part with the video!  Surely, it must be possible to get the video-tape converted locally to DVD. From what I hear, the quality suffers in the conversion process. If I knew how to convert video-tape to DVD, I would have suggested you send it to me in India while I'm there on my next visit, hopefully later this year. But I have no clue how to do the conversion.  If you stop trying to make sense of it all, you'll be less confused. Reality is an illusion.

Yes I do want to convert these to digital, no matter what as the quality is not perfect on the tape but it is good enough to preserve the heritage. Anand Math's, appeal to me personally is multidimensional:...Firstly Rishi Bankim Chandra Chatterjee's work with which all Bengalis grow up naturally (Tagore, Sarat Chandra Chatterjee, Nazrul islam are some of the many gems of literature). Moreover Hemant Kumar's first music direction in Hindi, Geeta Dutt's wonderful solos. The sanskrit chants with the three forms of Maa (Janani Janmabhoomi) just was so neat in its presentation...... O that is making me a bit emotional!! There was a time when I was forced by my mother to read Bankim rachana bali etc. and I was just too busy watching TV, and now I wish I had those books here with me!!
