Dear friends,

I have heard this wonderful peppy number of Kishore Kumar in Begunah: 'aaj na jaane paagal manwa kahe ko ghabraaye'.

The stanza after the 1st interlude is 'jab dekhun albela aanchal dil pe bijli toote....'

The song ends abruptly after this stanza. I'm sure there must be 2nd stanza.

Does anyone have this song? Would be grateful if this rarity can be shared.

Regards-Archie.

P.S. This song is ample proof that for all the versataility that this duo has exhibited, in terms of racy & snazzy numbers, they are absolute winners. Their note patterns, correct use of the orchestra and the overall peppy feel of a song is just incredible. Which is why I wistfully feel that they could have used more of Kishore Kumar of the 50's & early 60's to illustrate this wonderful talent of theirs.

A few immortal songs in this category would be:

milte hi nazar aap mere dil mein aa gaye (new delhi)
hum bechare pyar ke maare (rungoli)
nakhrewaali (new delhi)
hum matwaale naujawan (shararat)
arrey bhai nikal ke aa ghar se (new delhi)

Dear Mr. Sonu,

Apologies for responding late. Many thanks for this wonderful gem. In fact, immediately after my request in this forum, a very very kind soul had given me this number. I'm obsessed with this rarity & so is my 2 yr. old son who giggles uncontrollably after hearing the hiccups. Only Kishore Kumar could have sung that way. He can do anything with his voice & yet not go be-sura.

What can I say about SJ that has not been said before? They have been trailblazers in HFM with sophesticated orchestra, recording techniques & innovative music. In my humble opinion, it is they, along with Salil Chowdhury & Rahul Dev Burman, who constantly sought to innovate in HFM. They amalgamated the best of music from across the globe and modified those tunes to make it palatable for us. HFM is only richer for this duo.

Some more words of praise for this duo in this thread on raag bhairavi:
