HELLO PEEPS

WELL ONCE AGAIN THERE IS SO MANY SINGERS THAT I LIKE AS FAR AS THE NEW MUSIC GOES I DON,T PAY ATTENTION TO IT,HOWEVER I LOVE SONU AND UDIT NARAYAN I HOPE THEY DON,T DIE OUT I CAN,T STAND THE NEW SINGERS NO OFFENSE TO THEIR FANS, I COULDN,T FIND A PLACE FOR THESE TWO SONGS IAM GOING TO UPLOAD SO I CREATED THIS TOPIC. SONU NIGAM IS SINGING OVER A LOT OF SONGS,NOT ONLY BY RAFI BUT OTHERS AS WELL.

Hi Shazaad,

Both songs were originally sung by Akhlaq Ahmed.

Sona Na Chandi is from Bandish (1980)
MD: Robin Ghosh
Picturised on Nadeem Baig

Saathi Mere Bin Tere is from Zubeida (1976)
MD: Rafiq Ali
Picturised on Waheed Murad
(there is also a Noor Jehan version from the same film picturised on Nisho)

thank you i know its been sung over, sonu sang over a lot of songs from aziz,shabbir kumar,akhlaq ahmed, and so on. did u like his renditions of akhlaq ahmed.

Sorry forgot to mention that - I think Sonu has done very well with his renditions. I just wish the music in Sonu's version didn't have all the additional 'jhankar' type sounds.

this cd was made in holland they always like to add fresh music, this cd has 8 0r 9 songs. sonu sang a lot of stuff in holland but i don,t think people want this stuff, and i was only able to get this cd through a friend.

Nice choice of u/l's, I think I also have this album (cassette) all the songs I think were complilation of Akhlaq Ahmed origionals; rendered by Sonu, I also like the song UDHAS HAI DIL, NAZAR PARESHAN and SAWAN AAYE SAWAN JAE, TUJKO PUKARE.

You have CD so I wont even bother u/l ing

i like sonu nigams versions also but u know songs that are sung over have a limited scope and will definitely go unnoticed.

hey bro honestly i love sonu as well or i wouldn,t collect his songs but iam after some truth. sonu nigam changes his voice so much and he said he can sing like any1. thats kool but listen to muqabla film songs when he started out wat a different voice so my question is does sonu nigam has ever sung in his real voice rather than imitating rafi saab or singing in numerous voices of others . i would like to know when he,s gonna sing in his real own voice, dont get me wrong i love his voice especially sangursh film songs, and refugge and not including many others. take care

Shazaad,

once again you're spot on, my guess would be Bijuriya, as the song is a very fast number and he does sound different; on that point; when you listen to him singing in his interviews without the voice enhancing techical equipments and musical scores, Sonu does sound very ordinary (I bet you've picked up on that).

In contrast when you listen to RAFI doing his riyaz with NAUSHAD on the Harmonium, RAFI sounds simply awesome. Anyway, I don't want to bore you anymore, but I must say, like you mentioned - I liked Sonu most when he sang like the one in Sangharsh, Refugee, Border, Tera Jadoo Chalgaya (Ae Chand Teri Chandni Ki Kasam).

Sonu abhi bacha hai, he lacks that Raw Bass, but his singing talent is second to none.
