simply beautiful lyrics.

jis subah kii khaatir jug jug se
ham sab mar mar kar jiite hai.n
jis subah kii amrit kii dhun me.n
ham zahar ke pyaale piite hai.n
in bhuukhii pyaasii ruuho.n par
ik din to karam faramaayegii

wo subah kabhii to aayegii ..

Very fitting, muted composition by khayyaam that brings forth the "nairaashya" (frustration) and "aashaavaad" (hopefulness) at the same time.

superbly sung by Mukesh.

I have three songs from this movie and they are all very nicely written
this song
chin-o-arab hamaaraa
(patalaa hai haal apanaa, lekin lahuu hai jaaDaa
faulaad se banaa hai, har naujawaa.N hamaaraa
mil jul ke is vatan ko aisaa saajaayenge ham
hairat se muu.Nh takegaa saaraa jahaa.N hamaaraa)
and
aasamaa.N pe hai khudaa

I read (on giitaayan) that there are three different versions of "wo subah kabhii to aayegi" (with different lyrics). The one I have is sung by mukesh with asha humming/singing with Mukesh. anyone with the remaining two, please upload

Also the funny song by rafi and mukesh, I am sure I had it, but cant find it now, please please please upload it.
where rafi sings: jis pyaar me.n ye haal ho, us pyaar se taubaa taubaa and mukesh sings
jo bore kare yaar wo us yaar se taubaa taubaa

also want
do buunde saavan kii haay do buunde saavan kii by asha and
phir naa kiije merii gustaakh nigaaho.n ko giilaa by mukesh and aashaa

Thanks

here is wo subah kabhii to aayegii

from dictionary.com
trifecta:
A system of betting in which the bettor must pick the first three winners in the correct sequence.

obviously that directly does not apply here, however I have heard that word often used by us sports commentators for combination of three winners, which these three surely are.

Talaikya, thank you for the difft. versions of the title song. Here is the Mukesh Asha duet.

By the way, this movie was a remake(a very poor one if I may say so), of Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment. The Khaiyyam and Sahir combination has immortalised this album though. As a copy of C&P the movie goes nowhere but Sahir used this opportunity in "Chin o Arab", "Aasman Pe Hai Khuda" and the title song to express the post-Nehruvian disillusionment of the country, ten years into independence. "Chin O Arab Hamara" is an indirect parody of Iqbal's "Sara Jahan Hamara". One of the rare occasions where Khaiyyam composed for Raj Kapoor. Read somewhere on the nukkad blog that Khaiyyam prepared six songs for the title score and Raj Kapoor approved of all six.
