Naina dewaane ek nahin maane.........

"The best and the most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen,
nor touched...but are felt in the heart."

Far, very far, into the world of the farthest beyond
My hope carries me and places me
On the sweetest lap of the unknown.
There i behold my self-form
In the Dance-Delight of the Absolute

Every Night and every Morn
Some to Misery are born
Every morn and every Night
Some are born to sweet Delight
Some are born to Endless night

I have voted for
" Woh paas rahe yah door rahe"
But my favourite songs are not on the list, both duets with Rafi..'Tarari tarari' from Dastaan and 'Beqaraara hai koyi' from Shama Parvana

I think we can have another poll for the duets ! Suraiya ji has sung some nice duets with Rafi saab, Talat saab and Mukesh ji. No clue if she has any with Kishoreda, Manna Dey ji and Lata ji, Asha ji ??

Also only one with Geetaji in Afsar ! No idea if she has any with other singers like Suman Kalyanpur, Hemantda, Mahendra Kapoor, Shamshad Beghum etc ?

It would be great if some one having info, please share !

Cheers
Parag

My vote would be for " Raheye ab aise jagah chlkar janhe koi na ho"
from Mirza Galib. I think it is one her best solo.

My very favorite 2 Suraiya melodies are :

1. tum meet mere tum praan mere (Jeet, Anil Biswas)
2. meraa diladaar na milaayaa (Shama Parwana, Husnlal Bhagatram)

Such beautiful renditions. And she sounds so wonderful even in her last song, "ye kaisi ajab daastaan" from "Rustom Sohrab". Truly a timeless legend..

Regards,
Shriram

Hi Shriram, many thanks for this kind gesture. I really appreciate it.
I have uploaded 15 CDQ songs from collection. Most of them are popular songs, please have a look and see if anything is missing from your collection

Cheers
