I never knew md Ravi's name was Pt Ravi Shankar Sharma!!! You maalus know him by the name of Bombay Ravi Akbaralibhai...great album. Maalus nahin Mallus. Haan he is Bombay Ravi here and is very well respected. He has reused some of his Hindi tunes but has alos done some fantastic semiclassical stuff. Mallu music until v recently remained traditional without the Western/Hindi/Tamil influence and the crazy dancing. Exactly Priya.I just can't digest what is happening in Malayalam music. Can you tell which are the malayalam songs where he used Hindi tunes?. Akbarali bhai..great work.I must say you are doing self less service for the music lovers.hearly thanks. I am u/loading one of Ravi's malayalam songs. Singer:Yesudas Film:Oru vadakkan veeragatha dil doondtha hain phir vohi fursat ke raat din

Off hand cannot remember much, Ashraf esp as some of the Hindi songs themselves are not ones I regularly listen to.
But one is mujhe pyaar ki zindagi dene wale. I think it is a solo by S Janaki in the Mallu version. |

Here is the last song, I believe this was the most popular. Friends, your feedback would be appreciated. Song #9: "Muqaddar Azmana Chahhta Hoon" Mohd. Rafi Akbar Ali Bhai Many thanks for the Door Ki Aawaz album This was Ravi's one of most popular albums during 60s. The song which became most famous was the birthday song, Hum Bhi Agar Bachche Hotey. For years, it held sway as the most popular among birthday songs. The other one, which became popular was "Ek Musafir Ko Duniya Mein Kya Chahiye", particularly one of its antras "O Motey Lala Tuney Kiya Hai Kaisa Chhal, Ticket Tera Single Magar Tu Double" ,picturiseed on Johny Walker pushing a fatty Lala to get some space for himself in a train compartment. For many travellers on Mumbai's cowded local trains, this antra came particularly handy. My personal favourite is "Husn Se Chand Bhi Sharmaya Hai, Teri Soorat Ne Ghazab Dhhaya Hai", Joy Mukherjee singing for his pretty woman, Saira Banu. Reminds me of another perennial favourite by the same Rafi - Rajendra K - Ravi combo, "Husn Waale Tera Jawab Nahi". Pradeep |

Vinatge Album. Classy music and what can one say about Rafisaab's singing, he gives full justifice (as always) to the compositions.
The best songs of various MD's are the ones that Rafisaab has sung. Well done AkbarAlibhai PLAYBACK SINGING STARTS AND ENDS WITH RAFISAAB. IN TERMS OF QUALITY, CONSISTENCY & VERSATILITY, RAFISAAB IS INFINITE LIGHT YEARS AHEAD OF ALL SINGERS BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER HIM. |

Thanks so much, Akbaralibhai - for your 'usual' high quality uploads. Fantastic.
Ravi must have been very pleased with this film - because he managed to have his favourite singer Rafi in 7 out of 9 songs. This was one of the many films in which he worked with Devendra Goel. This is what Ravi had to say about Goel : "Devendra Goel saab gave me my independent break in Vachan (1955) and worked with me all the way till the last film for his banner, Aadmi Sadak Ka in 1977. He would always tell anyone who pressurized him to change his music director, "Meri film chale na chale, Ravi ka music hit hai!" We did about a dozen films together, including Narsi Bhagat, Pyar Ka Sagar, Dus Lakh, Door Ki Awaz, Ek Phool Do Mali, Dhadkan and Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka. Some of these films were not produced by him." Sri QUOTE I never knew md Ravi's name was Pandit Ravi Shankar Sharma!!! Journalistic error !! Our journalists have become so used to adding the word 'Pandit' before 'Ravi Shankar' over the last few decades..... Ravi Shankar Sharma ...is correct. Sri "Jis din is duniya se nafrat aur khudgarzi mit jaayegi, us roz yeh insaan naachega, us roz yeh dharti gaayegi" - Rajinder Krishan (Maa baap 1959)
