Hi All,
I have being seeing & hearing songs in my dreams of and on. On the rare occasions when i remember the song after waking up, i have tried to put it on paper, both the notations as well as the lyrics. These songs have never existed otherwise. You call this a gift. Some such songs, i have had them sung by professional singers (of course those that i have an access to and can afford). I am uploading one of the song. This song that i dreamt of was sort of typical Hindi film piano song. The hero was Randhir Kapoor and it was sung by Kishore Kumar! Here it is: The lyrics and composition is mine. Song: Kehna hai unse ye kehna Singer: Jitendra Abhyankar Bit: 56kbps (Sorry about that, but still the quality is good) Duration: 03:53 Year of recording: 2000 Your comments are most welcome. Amod p.s. Only in 2002, i dreamt of one more stanza from the same song (a slow & sad one) so it did not get included in the above song. Log, ek taraf, maY ko sharaab kehtey hai Uss chasm-e-saaQee shaY ko janaab kehtey hai / |

Are you a professional singer? Much above many professional singers. Please let me know about your profession & other details. If you are shy of doing so, you can PM me the same. I can advise you properly. Kamala Mohanty |

Sanjay & Kamala,
Thank you for the appreciation. I am flattered. Kamala, actually i have only written and composed the song. It has been sung by Jitendra (as specified earlier) and yes, he IS a good singer. As i said earlier, i have dreamt about the songs which i say 'I' have composed. Actually, they have just 'fallen in my lap', so to say. So it has not been any effort on my part (other than to get up in middle of a dream any time of the night and writing / recording (on a walkman) the lyrics & the tune) I am not to judge 'my own' songs. I have listened to such greats of Hindi film music, that i do not think much of these creations. The sole consolation is that in the said dreams i clearly hear the GREATS singing the song that has never existed. Sadly it is even less than 1% of the time that i recollect the song after waking up! Kamala, since you asked, i am a freelancing software consultant. I like to sing but am not a professional singer. Even my technical knowledge of music is almost zero. Amod p.s. This song (and 3 more) are recorded in a studio with proper music arrangement. There are others which have been recorded on a walkman (without any music) In case you are interested, i can upload some. Log, ek taraf, maY ko sharaab kehtey hai Uss chasm-e-saaQee shaY ko janaab kehtey hai / |

Anyway, I should say Mr Jitendra is a very good singer. He has the Style / flavour of Kishore Da songs. Please extend my thanks to him. Yes, certainly I would like to get those 2 songs. Please do upload. Thanks, Kamala Mohanty |

I just felt that the lyrics, composition and (Abhyankar's) singing was to a professional quality. Anyway, please upload whatever you have created out of your dreams, there will be enough appreciations from all. Sanjay |

Hi all.
This is a gazal (although the rules about the 'kafiyaa' have not been adhered to) The lyrics are from my dream. The tune is not from the dream (since i did not remember it) I have prepared the tune while awake. This has been sung by Mukund Phansalkar (disciple of Pt. Hridaynath Mangeshkar) Your comments are most welcome. I was away for almost a week. Thanks for the appreciation. (Honestly, I didn't expect much from the songs when I downloaded them) !!! -Dhananjay That, i think, must be the case with many visitors to this sub-forum. See the title of this sub-forum itself is so derogatory .. 'Sur mein na sahi' (Arrey yeh bhi koi title hu_aa?!!! It should be something like .. 'Hamara Hunar Bhi To Dekho!' or something positive of that sort) The current title is certain to disuade prospective visitors .. isn't it? Keep up the good work man.. and make sure you upload more of your compositions. -Dhananjay Hope i can. Hi All,
This is a song which has not been formally recorded in a studio. (it is without orchestra). A brief background about this dream and the song is necessary. Here it is: Its a marriage that i am attending. I have dinner and leave. It is dark outside. I leave the wedding hall and am passing the parked cars, on the way to the main road, where i can hire a cab. As i walk along the dark path, i see some kids laughing and singing in a van. The van has its back side open. As i pass the van, i realize that they were playing antakshari (a song game) I pause. They are little boys & girls aged around 6 to 7 years. And now, it is a boy's turn to sing a song. And he sings this song! And wow its actually Lata Mangeshkar singing in her vintage voice. The said song is extremely difficult to sing. Only the very accomplished singers can sing this. Luckily i knew someone who can do so. He is a disciple of Pt. Hridaynath Mangeshkar. His name is Mukund Phansalkar. Mind you, there is no orchestration in this song. Amod Here are the lyrics: Chandaa! chalaa jaa, chalaa jaa, chalaa jaa, chalaa jaa. O Chandaa! (#2) Phirse aanaa, jab woh aaye; Dil ko abhi naa behlaanaa! O Chandaa! Chalaa jaa, chalaa jaa, chalaa jaa, chalaa jaa. O Chandaa! Raat bitaayi, rotein rotein Roothi hai nindiyaa aatey aatey Saaraa samaaN yeh ruk gayaa gaatey Tu hi chubhan pehchaaney naa! (1) Pyaare musafir kaise sapney? Tujh mein hi dekhun mere apney Dil ki yeh dhadkan lag gayi rukney Ab to piyaa se milaa denaa! (2) Chandaa; chalaa jaa, chalaa jaa, chalaa jaa, chalaa jaa. O Chandaa! Chalaa jaa, chalaa jaa, chalaa jaa, chalaa jaa. O Chandaa! As you listen to this, just imagine Lata Mangeshkar's vintage voice.. Your comments are most welcome. Amod Amod, An amazing song once again !!!! To me, this was the best of the songs uploaded till now. I didn't read your message before I started listening to the song and I assumed that lack of orchestration was intentional (somehow it seemed natural for song's theme). My favorite piece in the song, was the little twist that you have given to the word "aayein" (in the line - "phir se aana jab woh aayein"). The only thing that may need improvement are the lyrics (Again, for a one-man-music-house that you are, it would be too much to expect that you excel in all aspects of the songs. If I ever composed music, my songs won't have even a tenth of sweetness as yours.. ) Kudos to you man -Dhananjay |
