Hi Mahesh, isn't this the same film in which the song 'jagaa vegale asel sundar, te maaze ghar, te maaze ghar' is? The song is based on raga Lalit.

Would you have it?

Just heard both songs. A friend told me about how he had heard that "Tu hai
mera prem devta" was really a Sudhir Phadke composition and he had
dismissed it as a baseless rumor.
After hearing "Te maajhe ghar" I can see how it is actually true.

Thanks for uploading these songs Mahesh.

SB, I think the raga used in these songs have something to do with the
similarity.

Even the song "pratham tuj paahtaa" uploaded at

http://www.hamaraforums.com/index.php?showtopic=76944

reminds of "kaahe tadpaaye jiyera" of Roshan from "Chitralekha".

Thanks for appreciation.

SB, it just needs a prod from friends - and I get enough of them - to remind me that HF ALWAYS has at least a handful of the 'oldbies' who make me feel at home every time I visit HF - never mind how long the interval may be smile1.gif

To all such friends - bow.gif (in an infinite loop)

SB, actually the truth is that Lalat / Lalit has a very catchy 'mukhada' (the group of notes that serves as the identity of a raga), and typically, most composers use that mukhada for the main lines of the song.

Hence 'te maaze ghar te maaze ghar' = tu hai mera prem devata = pritam daras dikhaao = ghey sakhe shashivadane = ek shahenshah ne banwaake haseen taj mahal = ... = ... all look almost carbon copies of each other.

Just my two cents, though I know that all you learned folks already know of this rolleyes.gif

Joy, sorrow, tears, lamentation, laughter — to all these music gives voice, but in such a way that we are transported from the world of unrest to a world of peace, and see reality in a new way, as if we were sitting by a mountain lake and contemplating hills and woods and clouds in the tranquil and fathomless water.
