Hi Rushin, RPNawani, Anupamaji and other forum members.

This is an amazing response, I am really touched and overwhelmed.

I got 18 out of the 24 songs requested for (other than common numbers with Anupamajis rare wishlist) within 2 ½ hours of uploading.

I am at a loss for words

The balance six are:

1.Jai Shankaryantar Band Kiya to Kya Aadmi Sadak Ka 1977 Ravi
2.Bhagwan Tumhari Duniya Main Part-2 Aan Baan (old) 1956 Husnlal Bhagatram
3.Suno Yeh Zamane Ki Kahani Aansoo 1980 Roshan Lal Khatri
4.Kyon Bichhad Gayi Adaalat 1948 Datta Davjekar
5.Maojon Ka Ishara Hai Annadata 1952 Mohd.Shafi
6.Sajna Milan Layi Aaya - verse Asha ??

Once again thanks. At the (Cost of carrying Coal to Newcastle ) and a request to all to go thru my list and request for the blue ones (the ones I have). I need the brownie points for the ratio

Thanks and Regards

Neither of the Arzoo (1950) songs was sung by Rafi - unless there was a version release later which would be very surprising. These two songs were sung by Shamshad and Anil Biswas respectively...and the Arzoo MD was Anil Biswas.

Dear Anupamaji and Faaraj ji

Faaraj ji is spot on. The songs from Aarzo (old) are not by Rafi Sahab . MY APPOLOGIES.

In fact I’d downloaded it from bharatlover.com, (which has around 500 videos of Rafi Sahab songs), and it was listed as Rafi Sahab’s voice. After listening, it is clear it is not, and the mystery is solved that it is Anil Biswas himself. Thanks Faaraj ji

DEAR ALL

I OWE AN APOLOGY FOR WRONG INDEXING REGARDING THESE TWO SONGS WHICH WERE LATER CLARIFIED BY BOARD MEMBERS

The song ae maut bura ho tera was downloaded by me a month ago from the channel of Sartaj 1961 in youtube. This apparently is from a CD given alongwith a biography of Rafi Sahab. This is mentioned in the preamble to the song. I’d love to have more details about how to get this from the forum members. THE MOVIE WAS WRONGLY MENTIONED BY ME AS AMAR SHAHEED, THE MOVIE IS CHALBAAZ. The other corrections are given below

The hyperlink to Sartaj’s channel
http://www.youtube.com/user/satraj1961

The details are :

Song : Ae Maut bura ho tera
Film : Amar Shaheed Chalbaaz
Year : 1960 1959
Singer : Md Rafi Sahab
Lyrics : ?
Music Director : Jamal Sen Chitragupt
Duration : 4.46 (incl the preamble)

The Arab Ka Lal song is from a wonderful person, Tariq ji who has uploaded around 1000 songs of Rafi Sahab in his YT channel : However, as rightly pointed out by Pradeepji, the song is from the film Arab Ka Sona
http://www.youtube.com/user/TeriAwazKiJadugari

(In fact he had uploaded 1500 plus earlier but YT has this sadistic streak of suspending accounts due to alleged copyright violations)

The details are

Song : Ghalfat mein sone walo .Rehmat ka ujala chaaya.. utho ae momiono Ramzaan aaya
Film : Arab Ke Lal Arab Ka Sona (The Film was also called Abu Kalia)
Year : 1960 1970s (It was released apparently in 1990s
Singer : Md Rafi Sahab
Lyrics :
Music Director : S.Kishen (as per earthmusic for the film) Jatin Shyam
Duration : 5.18 (incl the preamble)

Normally Tariq bhai is spot on (he does not give film name otherwise). { I guessEveryone is entitled for an occasional goof up, given the range of relatively obscure films and their songs !}

Sorry Again for the Aarzoo goof up. In case there are any other corrections, please let me know.

REALLY SORRY FOR THE BOTHERATION AND INCONV CAUSED.

Am not changing the attachments since the songs are the same
Regards

Swaminathan

P.S. Can u or someone else outline how to upload an image in a post (I can convert an xls file into image by using print screen mode, but how to copy/paste or incorporate it in the post like you and others do?

Hi Swaminathan

Just a handful of comments:

Dekh Humen Aawaz Na Dena from Amar Deep is a Rafi-Asha duet (and one of their best) and not Rafi-Lata.

I think Main Jab Chhedoon Prem Tarana and Main Jab Gaoon Geet Suhana from Amar Raj are basically the same song. The female starts with Prem Tarana and Rafi ends with Geet Suhana. If I am wrong and there are indeed two versions, please upload the solo. I like this song a lot.

You mention two songs from Awara (1951). I never knew Rafi sang for this film. Are these cancelled songs from the film. Again, please upload if these are indeed Awara (1951) songs.

Kind Regards
Faraaj

Dear Faaraj ji

Thanks for the correction of the Amardeep duet . It is bloomers like this that I’m looking for corrections!!

As regards Amar Raj song the duet number was uploaded recently (Rafi Sahab & Mohantara).

I had another solo version of Rafi Sahab, which appears to be a different one, as regards the aalap and all. I am uploading the same, you can listen and respond (Even I loved this song, and was thrilled with the duet version)

Song : Main jab gaon geet Suhana (I thought it was purana earlier)
Film : Amar Raaj
Year : 1946
Singer : Md Rafi Sahab
Lyrics : Pt Fani
Music Director : Firoz Nizami
Duration : 3.00 min

As regards, Aawara, though the hit numbers were of Mukesh, there were a couple of numbers (one background and one a river song by some character artist) by Rafi Sahab, though I guess they were not hits :

The details are

Song : Naiya teri majhdhar
Film : Awara
Year : 1951
Singer : Md Rafi Sahab
Lyrics : Shailendra
Music Director : Shanker Jaikishen
Duration : 2.31

Song : Pativrati sita mai...Zulm sahi bhari
Film : Awara
Year : 1951
Singer : Md Rafi Sahab
Lyrics : Shailendra
Music Director : Shanker Jaikishen
Duration : 2.31
